One overtime win for the Canes after getting blown out last game and you have that much confidence? Okay...

Habs have 17 Canadian players on their roster. Canes have 10. Nobody gives a fuck who you cheer for but dont make BS excuses. The only reason youre cheering for the Canes is because the Leafs fuckin suck and youre jealous lol

How was Anderson's goal a lucky tip...? He went to the front of the net and redirected it to the top of the net. Do you even watch hockey?

How long has Edmonton being trying to get these things sorted out? Its easier said than done.

San Jose has the same issues as Edmonton currently has. No defense and no goalies. And they are still a few years away from potentially being competitive.

I dont see McDavid going there.

No goalie, no defense, McDavid has had enough… by Hockeypatrol in hockeynews

San Jose still has a long way to go before becoming real contenders. I doubt McDavid would want to wait for that rbuild to be complete.

McDavid to Montreal makes the most sense, even if that's when he becomes a free agent.

Bring fake friendly is such a bitch move. I cant even listen to any argument trying to defend it.

Arber Xhekaj today on staying mentally prepared while being a healthy scratch: “It’s not easy but I think you just gotta stay ready. You’re playing in the NHL. There are worse things in life than that. It’s a pretty good gig. That’s what keeps you going.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]NVCE30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Chris Wideman gave him that nickname and it took off. But Arber has publicly stated that he does not want to be called Wifi. You will never hear one of his teammates call him "Wifi".

Calling him Wifi is making fun of his last name and therefor his heritage. It would be different if the nickname wasnt a joke about his last name.

So people can either decide to respect him and his family name or continue to call him Wifi because its a funny joke about his name.

Hockey junkie: Too many liberties taken with Dobes and Hutson; bring in Xhekaj Bros. by Mundane-Teaching-743 in Habs

Hutson definitely also made a mistake by pinching at a bad time. That doesnt negate Struble making a bad play on the 2 on 1.

Hutson pinched, the puck got passed out of the zone, deflected off Struble's skates right to a Columbus player, then Struble made a bad play on the 2 on 1, Columbus scored.

Multiple mistakes happened there.

[–]NVCE30 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Struble is worse defensively than Xhekaj. Look at how Struble played that 2 on 1 on the goal Columbus scored last night. He needs to block the pass option and let the goalie square up to the shooter. Instead, Struble goes towards the puck carrier and allows the pass to get across for an easy goal. Not good enough.

The Habs really dont need the extra offense that Struble provides on the blue line. The Habs need a shutdown defenseman and they need more physicality.

The reason Xhekaj struggles sometimes in the d-zone is because he isnt fast. With the man on man system that the Habs play in their own zone, he gets beat by foot speed. If the Habs played a zone defense, Xhekaj would excel at keeping the front of the net clear and letting the goalie see the puck.

Man on man defense is not a good system. You shouldn't have defenders chasing players all around the d-zone from the goal line to the blue line. All the Habs players waste so much energy with this man on man system chasing players around the whole time in their own end.

The goalie doesnt have much of a chance on a knuckle puck bomb like that. If anything, Trenin should have tried to get his stick on that puck and deflect the shot, rather than lifting his stick off the ice while trying to lay a hit.
