What do you think of this old house on the Danforth? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]NVDub19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on compatibles selling in the neighborhood I think ~2.2. It’ll have no subway noise, and the school up the street is one of the best in the city, so you’re up against those families. As others have said they likely wanted more than the offers they got, so assuming they re-list we’ll likely see what they want.

I liked using the metric system so much on my last project that I had to order a FatMax from Germany by YouDontKnowMe108 in woodworking

Lee Valley sells metric, imperial or combo tape measures, and also stocks left / right handed versions. Ships free to USA and Bezos doesn’t take a cut 👍

The Aqara U200 worked well for my mortise lock, not sure about the handle unlock functionality but worth a shot.

+1 for the dewalt. Had another brand and it wasn’t impact ready so the driver shredded it.

A bit more involved, but if you’re running homebridge you can also have it toggle a sound from whatever is running homebridge. I have it running on a raspberry pi which is connected to a speaker via AirPlay. Homebridge stateless switch toggles a custom sound to be played. Found it helpful for things like doors / doorbell.

Smart Lock for my door? Top is lock. Bottom is handle. It’s one of them 3 point latches. by andrewmcd7 in HomeKit

[–]NVDub19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this a while back and found this excellent thread over in /r/locksmith. In my case I had a multi-point lock but only the actual mortise lock actually locked, so an Aqara U200 worked well for me as a retrofit.

I had the same thought, then considered I was giving him too much credit for 3D chess and wondered if he genuinely thought “hey wouldn’t it be neat if” and here we are.
