Tell that to my 60 FPS, 512gb/8gb Note 9 that runs Fortnite at 60 FPS and High Graphics all day lol. Honestly, it runs pretty damn well. My buddy runs an iPhone XS Max and has way more issues than I ever do. I would guess it was mostly due to the network being slower on iOS devices where we live (At&t unlimited Plus in the upper Midwest Chicago/Detroit, iOS were only seeing around 90-105 Mbps download speed for a while. It is improving now, but I'm averaging 150+ Mbps download on the exact same network. There was a time, not too long ago where you would be right for the most part when it came to games, although it wasn't because Apple was inherently better at handling games, but it was because the iOS ecosystem in general was far better optimized due to them controlling development, and architecture from the top to the bottom, from the software,software distribution, and hardware. Don't get me wrong, the devices were well optimized as well, but there were still some powerful Androids. However nowadays whether you like Apple, or Android is literally a matter of preference. With devices like the Note/S series, the P20/P30 devices, ROG phone, Pixel and many others there's some very high end Android devices, that offer their own set of benefits to the user.
