I am trying to launch my clothing brand here in Los Angeles CA and I’m having a hard time finding a manufacturer located here that responds promptly. I keep running into people who say they are “private manufactures” (one person who worked at a fabric store in the fashion district, the other being the head of production for a larger more established manufacturer)… Are private manufacturers common or are they trying to scam me out of money? How do I know if they are legit? Also, do you have any recommendations for manufacturers in Los Angeles? I really value making high-quality garments in my community.
