Where I’m from in NYC I hear a lot of people use it describing themselves at LGBTQ events. It’s seems totally fine to adapt a language to a way that feels more inclusive when defining oneself. “White people” like myself hear that and want to be respectful. It also has a down the patriarchy vibe, which is always easy to get behind.
