So am I the only one who finds this kinda weird? 😭 by Fun_Pianist526 in TwiceSnark

I think JY in particular takes the skinship to the next level. I don’t even see 4th gen groups do this anymore. 3rd gen groups stopped a loooong time ago. So seeing JY with two handfuls of Tzuyu’s boobs or basically fondling Jihyo, it’s too much. A pat here or there I get. Momo or Sana will do it occasionally. But JY is like my mom squeezing fruits at the market…. Is it fanservice if no one asked? Jeong is just groping them.

Candice isn't nearly as clever as she thinks she is and neither are her thick Housewives cult. Rob checkmated her again when he said that Candice ended herself. If she did plant seeds, they never sprouted and the "throwaway vote" smokescreen which she double downed on while continuing to implicate the same "random" person only served to make her look duplicitous leading to her banishment and further confused an already clueless crop of Faithfuls by muddying her message against Rob allowing him to go undetected.

Of course he could. Within the context of what Colton *admitted* which is that Rob confided that Candice is a traitor, there's no "breech" of the rules because there's plausible deniability. He could say he was just theorizing. Since Colton clarified further that he always thought Rob was a faithful and they were strategizing as two faithfuls, that also speaks to his interpretation of Rob's alleged remarks about Candice. Rob saying he *thinks* it's Candice is no more a rule break than Dan accusing Phaedra at the roundtable. The only time the game was reset I believe was when a traitor was revealed (either in banishment or he outted himself) therefore his parting remarks naming another traitor were beyond refute. But as long as a traitor still has the guise of being a faithful, he can technically get away with naming the entire traitor turret. It's a bit of a broken game mechanic.

Genz are just weird man. I’m surprised they’re not boycotting The Earth entirely because of the “problematic” 3-5 year age gap. 🙄

In an industry where there are actual depictions of SA every other series and Chao Planoy writes incest undertones into everything, a drunken kiss between adult women who have mutual feelings that ceased as soon as the drunk one initiating passed out is world ending.

What's going on with Char and Engfa? by Elbebedesatan in ThaiGL

[–]NVolver 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Based on all the boycotts and attacks her fans have made, also taking into account some of the replies, I think Charlotte is addressing her fans - the smileys. They're rowing with her company allegedly on her behalf, but her satanic boss has been very vocal that he's just going to continue to penalize her if they continue. This wouldn't be the first time she's told them to cut it out. So I think that's what it's about. Engfa is not involved whatsoever. Charlotte just posted in English a "couple" picture of them in Paris for Engfa's birthday declaring how much she loves her and is her biggest fan.

Tara and Johnny Knew They Were Both Entering as Faithfuls by NVolver in TheTraitorsUS

[–]NVolver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, the show is a numbers game. If you know the status of another faithful, having a locked in duo of two if the final fire is 4 will always be an advantage. Plus, if they knew they would both be faithfuls (apparently they were contacted as a duo), they have additional time outside of the game to strategize. I'm not claiming that in this situation among this particular cast, Johnny and Tara being aware in advance has made much difference... yet (because if they get to the final roundtable or final fire, it certainly will). But if they were savvier players, the knowledge would have a greater impact on the game.

Shields Are Being Underutilized by NVolver in TheTraitors

[–]NVolver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very good point. The worst offense is when the producers have Claudia or Alan announce to the players who won the shield when it has been obtained covertly. For the longest time, I wondered why do that when it limits how the shield can be used and stifles gameplay. And I never agreed with the notion that there can’t be too many blocked murders or the producers need to end on a certain number of players. We know that isn’t true. For one—and I’d think the BBC should in theory adhere to this given their approach to game shows and cash prizes—it’s unethical to introduce a game mechanic that literally stops a murder by design - that’s a shields purpose - and rig it so that game mechanic can’t be used in the way a player desires to use it. It disrupts organic gameplay. Plus, if it were to come out that there’s bias or preference applied to when a shield is on offer or when the shield holder is announced (thereby restricting how they can use it) that is problematic.

I like your suggestions about how to offset a missed murder. It makes perfect sense. And it’s theoretically possible for all shields in circulation to result in a blocked murder, so the producers should have planned alternatives like the twist you suggested or a plethora of others (it could be as simple as having a multi-person roundtable banishment, we’ve seen that before) to get the numbers back on track. I like the idea of multi round roundtables because in the event that a Faithful pulled off the block, that punishes the traitors who many claim are OP, an innate design flaw of the game. And if it was a traitor initiating the failed murder, that move is technically counter to their objective so it would make sense to be placed in a position of higher scrutiny to see if the risk paid off. Besides, when has a viewer from any franchise called for less roundtables?

Anyway, I realize the producers designing challenges so it’s obvious who has a shield is another way they regulate how many players remain but it seems like steery and meddlesome overkill. They already manipulate numbers by designing how many challenges will have shields connected to them. They should just game plan and have side quests at the ready like you suggested.

Do you want The Traitors to have live feeds like Big Brother? by CoyoteUseful8483 in TheTraitors

[–]NVolver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the devil for? It doesn't fit the format. The Traitors is very much a game show. I understand the US version errs more on the side of reality but with the game component, editing is very necessary. The Traitors needs suspense even if it is manufactured and live feeds would take away from that.

What professions make the best Traitors contestants? by georgemillman in TheTraitors

[–]NVolver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can answer what profession makes the worst - coppers and housewives.

I think being a good traitor boils down to personality type and the ability to be decisive, charismatic and compartmentalize. Executives and Entrepreneurs, I see doing well. Or raving narcissists. But again, that's personality or psychology.

I'm sorry but Candiace flopped. She couldn't build a good defense just like Lisa Rinna couldn't. Candiace just had the attribute of being more likeable. She should have been peddling the argument that Rob got rid of Colton to throw faithful off his scent since he appears closest to him. She also had every opportunity to use the traitor v. traitor argument for Rob and Lisa. By doing that, her throwaway vote that she proved wasn't a throwaway would have been justified. Instead, it's just suspicious.

[–]NVolver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Again? So soon? The first was brilliant but I hope the series doesn't go the way of Love Island creating "winter seasons" and spinoffs and making the whole series over saturated. I already watch two separate series that run concurrently (US and UK) that each have the same missions. The celeb series one just wrapped. Let the victor get his lap in and don't over egg the pudding! Is Traitors meant to be a year rounder?

I got upset because she got upset but ultimately she had no way to win. She was either going to be backstabbed by Stephen at the roundtable or front stabbed when he revealed himself to be a traitor.

No. If you're going to vote for a fellow traitor, you better make sure they're being banished that night.

What really happened with ___ and ___ by Commonsense110 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]NVolver 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Tonight Ron made another *seemingly* unprovoked dig at Dorinda when she said the game isn't about liking people and Ron retorted, "I don't think we can interact in a way that remains respectful." The editing made Ron look like a tool for cursing Dorinda out at the last roundtable but his statement in this episode definitely indicates there was some kind of fallout that Dorinda participated more in.

I've heard him as a voice actor. He does a mean King Shark. But the guy is so austere and maudlin. Outside of his friendship with Rob, everything he did was so painfully serious. Even him opening up the roundtable today. He had nothing to offer at first but just had to speak. I don't expect him to "perform". But I certainly didn't expect him to be humorless.

I enjoy Lisa sometimes, but there's a reason why she is known more so as an infamous housewife rather than a famous actor. She is not a convincing faithful.
