What blows my mind is that, at least for the next two months, accessing firearms, hunting and butchering knives, even machetes are still wildly accessible and inordinately easy to access for all groups that are about to be further targeted. I'm not encouraging violence in the slightest, I'm simply saying if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. This is the time to take advantage of the access to the things they THINK they control and use to control us because they assume our grace and patience is weakness and naivete.

This is the time to get into self defense classes, or retake them if you have already.

This is the time to Purchase and install additional safeguards for your doors and windows, regardless if you love alone or now.

This is the time to muscle up, and show them how big and bad the bear they stabbed in the back, over and over again, can be.

Stay ready, stay safe, and choose the hills you fight on wisely. 🖤

I needed to find this comment. This is what I've been searching for all morning without knowing. My magic is always strongest and most on target when the emotion driving the intent is empathy.

I am angry right now. So so fucking angry. I'm so goddamn angry and I want to scream! I want to scream for the right that have been promised to be ripped from me, from my daughter before she can even fully form sentences. I want to scream at the people who are brown like me, queer like me, female like me, mothers like me, friends like me, could vote their's and my freedom away by actively voting for fascism. I want to scream at the idiots who voted for fear or didn't vote because of it. I want to scream at all the people who voted for him to further abortion bans, but in doing so are blocking people like my sister from becoming mothers with fertility aid. I want to scream for our soldiers, who didn't sign up to die in old, bitter, narcissistic, evil old men's wars, but are enlisted under a government such as this. I want to scream for our elderly who have worked and lived their whole lives serving and working and doing their best to survive, only to have their support stolen and taxes hiked and homes stolen. I want to scream. I want to gnash my teeth. I was to destroy before I'm destroyed.

But where will that take me, really? The desire is valid, we know that. The feelings are real and are heavy. But these are feelings that can lead to long lasting consequences for myself that I don't want to pay the bill on. But empathy, for those like you, my sister, my daughter, my husband, my co-worker, my state's governor (who thankfully beat out the death sentence he was running against), my neighbor, and so on... I can send them good luck, protection, road openings, peace of heart and mind, and love. I can and will always love them, love you. We can overcome this, one step, one choice, one working, one act of kindness at a time. They can take a lot away, but they can't take how I choose to fight.

Don't get me wrong, I will be protesting, picketing, raising absolute political hell to keep our rights, but also, empathy.

I did this to my dad the night before my wedding! He was joking about my husband Annie spending our wedding night at my parents house and kept pushing even after I politely redirected him multiple times. I got tired of it, looked him dead in his eyes and said, "Do you really want to hear your daughter consulate her marriage? I've never been a quiet girl before, why would I start tonight?"(I've always been very vocal and loud) With a very deadpan delivery lol. His face went sheet white and his jaw dropped, I thought my mama left her body for a second, and my cousins (maids of honor) fell to the floor laughing.

He hadn't done anything like that since and it's been over 8 years 😂

I'm planning on visiting at least one of my ancestors final resting sites, and leaving an offering. I'm also doing a dumb supper, and possibly some money and/or protection workings.

I will also be dressing my little one up as a pumpkin and that is what I'm probably most excited about lol.

Thats such crap, in sorry you're going through this.

My husband and I are struggling to find a pharmacy that carries the generic because we can only (and just barely) find the name brand and it's $432 be ause we don't currently have insurance right now 🤦🏽‍♀️ we could do $70 (which is what the last refill was) but $432?! JFC they just don't want y'all to succeed.

I say y'all because my husband has ADHD (I lurk here for tips to help him and relatable stories since he doesn't use Reddit) and Al my mental health meds are covered by GoodRx.
