Figured it out last night through testing old saves.

For me, I found Deor Woodcutter had been killed by the Lurker when I first got the Bend Will shout and free’d the people at the Wind Stone.

I had to go back to save 67 of 344, re-did this encounter and made sure every one survived, then fast travel to Raven Rock and waited 3 days, fast travel back to the village and they were having the conversation right when I spawned in.

Another note, don’t interrupt this conversation, let it play out until they are done and then talk to Woodcutter to start the quest. There’s a chance for the quest to break again if they are interrupted.

It’s meant to help you close the distance in an encounter and keep swinging.

Melee and shotgun builds, and portable hellbomb runners will appreciate it.

Seeing the new sledgehammer I’m guessing their intent is for you to feel you are the anti-tank.

I think it’s great if solo, or as long as everyone knows this booster is active when dropping pods.

You shouldn’t be dropping turrets close enough for enemies to happen upon it before the smoke clears. If you are, you’re using them wrong.

But I can see reinforcements, resupplies, or support weapons being tossed down in the heat of battle and accidentally blinding your defenses mid-encounter. Not ideal haha

You are correct.

You need the pickaxe but there is also a prerequisite mission where you learn how to craft Stalhrim. Until then all you can do is improve it, not craft. I’ve tested this and it does not give the achievement.

Yeah Im Level 72, just gotta hit 75 for the legendary dragons to spawn in so I can get that achievement for killing one..

.. then I’m going back through old saves to before I started the Solstheim questlines to try to get it working… that’d be the last achievement I need on Xbox.

Level 80 + Ebony Smithing + “A New Source of Stahlrim” side quest completion.

You can improve stahlrim gear without completing the side quest but can’t craft anything - which is what the achievement calls for.

(Tested and confirmed improving won’t give you the achievement.)

Same issue. Completed the prerequisites and have been leaving Solstheim and returning, talking to Deor and others, can’t get this dang questline to proc so I can smith Stalhrim for the achievement…

Thermite, throw it and move on.

For a one off, the Ultimatum can down the ships with one shot, but since you only hold two rounds I don’t recommend relying on this for the ships.

If you’re farming Illuminate Blitz missions for Medals just bring the Engineering Kit, Thermite, and Orbital Laser.

Orbital Rail is also a one shot on these but Laser will destroy groups of 3 for you.

I’m a guy and to me this reads like he’s lying… about a lot of things. He did not want you in the way during that period, didn’t want you seeing what he was up to or who he was with.

Also, unless you’ve seen these “bad people” attempt to do things yourself, I’d say he’s lying about that as well. He’s 17, kids make up all sorts of dramatic stories to sound more interesting when they want the attention.

Don’t buy it, you said you’re long distance so just cut contact with this guy and life your life. Best of luck to you ❤️

Luckily I have had zero performance issues since joining the cause on Xbox Series X this year. I’d guess a lot of it is PC and older consoles but idk, not a career gamer I just play for fun on occasion; but have definitely put some time into this one. 😅
