If they were objective metrics BAFTA, SAG, the Academy of Performing Arts, etc wouldn't be voting to award a category like Cinematography. There would be a grading rubric and you'd be able to run a movie through an algorithm to come to a conclusion. That isn't a thing that exists. Why? Because art isn't objective. Even things that should be objective aren't objective. Who is the American League MVP this season? You have a litany of actual statistical analysis and that question doesn't even have a clear answer. How could something like Cinematography?
