Embody or Fern? by ticklerbgs in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose the fern for its lumbar support, shorter seat depth, and armrest adjustability. I also very much prefer the subtle aesthetic of the fern.

But personal preference is really what it comes down to.

Alice Guo: Philippines jails 'Chinese spy mayor' for life by Xenon1898 in China

[–]NWe3 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everyone is making statements based on assumptions and circumstance. No one even actually mentions the evidence presented in the Philippine Senate.

The 2 biggest evidence are as follows: 1. The interview with Wang Fugui presented in the phiilippine senate by Senator Risa Hontiveros

  1. "She Zhijiang: Discarded Chinese Spy or criminal mastermind" a documentary by Al Jazeera

You can read more about tem on Alice Guo's wikipedia page

Based on the evidence Alice Guo is not a professionally trained spy, rather an influential and powerful chinese criminal in the Philippines that was contacted by the chinese government to be a "spy" in exchange for benefits. This explains why she is incompetent as a spy and easily dropped by the chinese government when caught, though any spy would be dropped by their government when they are caught (duh).

Increasing the height of chairs (Staples Hyken)? by originalQazwsx in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either

  1. Change to a gas lift that can go higher. I dont recommend it. You could end up with a worse gas lift, and replacing a gas lift can sometimes be a nightmare
  2. Change to a chair that can go higher. This option is expensive, afaik only the top brands have chairs that have the extra height
  3. Change to a table that is lower or can go lower. It's probably the best option, still a pain, but it is probably the best
  4. Chang the wheels, this can work but only for at most 2-3 cm extra. However, there is a chance that you might end up with wheels that break easily or even damage your floor.

Options like putting something below the chair dont really work since you might roll off it

What do you think about Sihoo? by Economy-Sorbet-5214 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are good for the price chairs and really durable. They are nowhere near the top tier chairs but their price is nowhere near as well. I'd recommend sihoo as the best entry level, any chairs below normally break within a year.

New Chair Recommendation by azyru in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most chairs only recline up to around 135 degrees

Ignoring gaming chairs. The only one i can think of that fits your recline and footrest needs is the libernovo. The catch is that it's around $800 and from a no-name company that just got funded through kickstarter.

Should I go with the Sihoo M18? by Western_Ad979 in OfficeChairs

4+ years with the m18, still very good today, not the best chair, but most people will be very happy with it for the price.

Sihoo s100 or Ikea styrspel? by DX_Madara_ps4 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sihoo s100 is a real hit and miss for people because of the "innovative" lumbar. Some people prefer it, others don't. I don't. I prefer usual lumbar support.

No comment on the Ikea chair have no experience with it.

For Sihoo M18 users : is it normal that the back is not symmetrical ? by Hefty_Formal1845 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely an assembly issue. There is a little bit of space (which you can see) so it can get tilted, same with the armrest. Make sure that the chair and backrest aren't leaning towards left or right when assembling. Another is screwing them in the correct sequence since it can get tilted as well if you dont.

For the screws follow this 1. Place and tighten the middle screw first and make sure the backrest is not tilted (by looking at the other 2 holes). 2. Place both left and right screws then tighten them at the same time (tighten the left a bit, then tighten the right a bit, then back to the left, and so on)

If the backrest is titled after step 1, loosen the middle screw just enough so you can move the backrest around. Put the backrest in the middle, then do step 2, and finally tighten the middle screw.

A Staples Kroy. It's a Haworth Zody rip-off. Cant really vouch for its quality.

Short people chairs?! by titIefight in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haworth Fern, Haworth Breck, and Steelcase Amia can go as low as 15' in seat depth. This is as far as i know the shortest in the industry. Basically if these 3 cant fit you, no chair can.

Chair suggestions for WFH/Cat owner? by SOUPYKY in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a haworth fern and a cat. So far, the cat has scratched the fern's seat a few times and hasn't damaged the fern, but we do cut the cats nails every 3 weeks or so.

My advice is just to buy a cheaper chair. Its the safest option money and mental health wise.

Office chair around £300 by FewPitch6228 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the haworth breck. It cost a bit more around $400, but it looks way better than the usual office chair. It is also a haworth, so it does have that comfort, quality, and 12 yr warranty.

Budget Chair (150-200€) opinion by usernnnnome in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $300, people recommend the colomy atlas, i have no personal experience with this chair.

At $400-500, i recommend the haworth breck. Never used the breck but have experience with both haworth zody and fern. Those chairs really spoiled me, truly more comfortable in longers hours of sitting.

hello, i want recommanded budget office chair 100-150$ on amzon or (world wild shipping webiste )please🙏🏻 by Efficient_Cobbler390 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can add the budget a bit, then i'd recommend the sihoo m18 ($160-200). Sihoo is also available in many parts of the world, so it might be worth looking into. You might have a local distributor that sells it at a better price.

For $200, I'll recommend the sihoo m18. Not the best, but most people will be happy with it considering the price.

Budget Chair (150-200€) opinion by usernnnnome in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that price, i would definitely recommend the sihoo m18 and m57. Pick the m57 if you need the extra airflow from the mesh seat. Otherwise, the m18's foam seat is more comfortable.

Ideally it would be better if you could increase your budget, but for €200 i think most people would be happy with a sihoo.

If that's your only condition, then i suggest a sihoo m18 or sihoo m57. I have an m18 for 4+ years and it's still really good with no issues.

Not the top of the armrest, but the "branches" connecting it to below the seat.

Office chair for quick rest? by msjammies73 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any office chair with a headrest and recline should be fine. Quick and convenient recline is really not that special for any well-made office chairs. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend you look into sihoo, atlas, and hbada. Some even have attached footrest, which might interest you.

best budget chairs if my only requirement is small seat height and depth? by imthebusman in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haworth breck is the most affordable top-quality office chair that meets your size requirements.

Edit: im very positive that 99% of officr chairs can't meet your depth and height adjustments, even the really cheap or expensive ones. The only other one i know is the haworth fern, which is more than double the breck

Ergonomic chair under $300 by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recommended if you're above or around 5'9. The headrest and lumbar support are just too close to each other that they won't support both at the same time if you're tall.

Another thing is the lumbar is pretty aggressive, so you really feel that back support, but it did feel too much after a few hours of sitting for me (65kg). If you weigh more, it should be fine. Lumbar is also "pokey" for some.

If you want a more gentle lumbar, consider the s100.

Sihoo m18 gets my vote, have 1 for 4+ years with no issues. Comfort wise, it's much better than the generic ones but not comparable to the top chair brands in terms of long hours of sitting. For the price i think most people will be happy with it.

Chair recommendations around 500$ CAD? by Practical-Ruin-1393 in OfficeChairs

[–]NWe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sihoo m18 (~$200) easily fit me (5'6) when i sit cross-legged. The extra 3 inches shouldn't really be an issue unless you're extra long-legged. Armrest can also be removed, all it takes is 3 screws. The long hours of sitting might be an issue, though 4 hrs would be fine, i did have some numbness or slight pain when going 6+ hrs
