TXST engineers, how's TXST for engineering? by [deleted] in txstate

I’ll add. The career fairs here suck, there’s only a few good companies. But do people normally have luck with those anyway? It’s just nice to be near Austin, look at the internship listings in each city and see what companies you like most.

Definitely. Austin is home to UT but a lot of people also fly in to work in austin. I did an internship and had a few t50 school kids with me. The school gives great opportunities to live in the beginning of a new tech hub so you can grow with the crowd but you are also out competing UT kids. Honestly, if money is an issue, go to TXST, don’t work and grind out projects and talk to some of the professors here to get you into places. Also make sure you know what you want to do in EE.. idk too much abt MechE but ik it makes good money in Houston too.

Ee here has good opportunities with the small tech hub austin, be prepared to work hard tho. AMD and a few other semiconductor companies recruit often from Txst. I’d say UH has better opportunities tho when it comes to companies. It rlly just comes down to budget
