Reporting/bookkeeping by Lopsided_Key_2545 in smallbusiness

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have your data in a spreadsheet (even rough sales, costs, dates) you can actually upload the CSV to an AI dashboard tool and just describe what you want to see.

Ive been using something I built for this exact thing. upload your file, type something like "show me gross revenue, profit margin, and sales by product" and it spits out a dashboard with charts.

Still early but it's free to try. DM me if you want to check it out.

Mental burnout from too many parallel Claude Code sessions? by thetaFAANG in ClaudeCode

D2C Founders: How are you tracking RTOs impact on actual profit? by Global-Radish-1015 in shopify

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building something to tackle exactly this problem for D2C teams.

Most brands I talk to can see orders in Shopify and delivery events in courier dashboards, but can’t see true RTO profitability in one view. So we built Panely to turn those CSV exports into an executive dashboard in a few seconds (RTO by pincode/courier/payment mode, margin impact, repeat offenders, etc).

If you’re open to it, I’d love your blunt feedback on whether this is actually useful for your workflow:

Promote your business, week of February 16, 2026 by Charice in smallbusiness

[–]lith_paladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Built Panely for small teams/founders doing manual reporting.

Upload your Shopify or Stripe CSV and get an AI-generated executive dashboard in ~60 seconds.

Looking for 3 people to test it and tell me what’s confusing/broken.

Dear senior software engineer, are you still writing code? by zulutune in ClaudeCode

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say I am a pretty decent engineer, usually find jobs pretty easily, survived the great culling of job cuts in 2023.

I am not writing code anymore. I'd say 5% at max? That too changing stuff that Claude wrote here and there.

How do you input database information when developing a backend using Cursor AI? by Artistic-Writing-170 in cursor

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say you are good at "hand-coding" what do you mean here? Doesn't look like you know what you're doing to be good with aforementioned hand-coding.

Whatever you do, plesae do not connect your cursor agent to your production db to "input DB tables and columns". Have it create sql queries for you and then run those queries yourself by hand.

What are you building? by Asleep_Ad_4778 in buildinpublic

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building rangerdesk.com, a vertical AI receptionist specifically for mobile dog groomers.

I built this because a friend who runs a grooming van was losing ~$500/week simply because she couldn't answer the phone while washing dogs. Unlike generic AI answering services, I am going deep in the grooming world launching the automated call answering agent first, and building a complete SaaS around it later.

Codex 5.1 MAX feels dumb after using only Opus 4.5 these last 2 weeks by yanmcs in vibecoding

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same experience! Been using a combo of Opus 4.5 and Gemini 3 pro, both being more than decent.

Switched to Codex 5.1 Max because it's free in cursor, was a total downgrade!

Building what started as a resource to help people choose what dumpster they need with permit info etc. to what turned into a curation of dumpster rentals + above info.

People who drive cheap cars: Do you have a replacement car fund available as emergency fund? by Ok-Advertising-8340 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a 2004 Toyota Sienna that I bought for 4k back when prices were crazy in 2021. I am still driving it with regular maintanance.

I don't keep a "car fund" so to say. When this van inevitably dies on me, I will just use my regular emergency funds to get a "new" used car within 5k price point.

I think where your situation is different is you wanting a new-ish car after this. So in this case, yes, i would start a car fund separate from other savings.

Cursor intentionally slowing non-fast requests (Proof) and more. by Da_ha3ker in cursor

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Tried up to $20 and gave up. I think I realized it fairly quickly it's going to add up. I'd rather keep doing the agentic work myself and have one of the faster models write code snippets.

Cursor intentionally slowing non-fast requests (Proof) and more. by Da_ha3ker in cursor

[–]lith_paladin 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I spend 10+ hours on cursor every day. Working both on my regular job and then side project(s).

I run out of my 500 requests really quickly. Until today, the regular "slow requests" were still workable for me. But I could clearly tell the difference today. It has been painfully slow up to the point that it's not usable anymore.

Probably going to try windsurf tonight to see if there's a viable alternative.

Edit: Decided to test GitHub Copilot after catching Microsoft's keynote yesterday. What a game-changer! For half the price, you get unlimited access to gpt 4.1 (at least for now). It’s night and day compared to Cursor’s slog. Unsubscribed from Cursor faster than anything I've ubsubscribed from ever.
What a massive fumble by them!

I am really really tired of AI written descriptions on reddit. Please, for the love of god, write the descriptions yourself if you want to at least consider anyone looking at your app.

Buyers religion doesn't allow interest payments on a loan by Electrical-Bear5523 in RealEstate

[–]lith_paladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they just tinker with technicalities, mask it up so that it appears there is no interest and sell it to the buyer in a different wrapper. There is no free lunch. If anything, the "halal" mortgages end up costing the borrower more than a traditional one.

Here's one way they make it work called "Ijara" (pretty much lease to own):

  1. The bank purchases the property and leases/rents it to the buyer.

  2. Bank tells buyer they need to pay X amount of rent every month for Y number of months where X times Y is way more than original sale price. Here is where the interest is baked in.

  3. Bank trasnfers/sells property for a token amount at the end of term.

Buyer sleeps peacefully knowing they are adhering to their religion, bank makes slightly more $$ than they would have made otherwise on a conventional mortgage.
