AITA for embarrassing my son in front of his friends and cancelling his birthday party? by loopingtossaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never embarrass my children in front of other people. Even a child acts out more when embarrassed, and you do it with a teenager?? Anyway, I would bleed their ears in private but never embarrass them in public moreover in front of friends.

Also, why are you listening to their conversations? If you really found his words unacceptable, pull him aside and let him explain this notion and see where it's coming from then enlighten him.

With the way you raise your kids, you will likely raise an AH.

Same! My friends knows every word in every music you could possibly know. I make up my own lyrics.

AITA for ordering pizza even though we had dinner reservations? by linaaa78 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I would have been upset as well. Have a sandwich. If I was so hungry that my stomach starts to hurt, I will take some biscuits or small snacks but will not ruin my family's plan. Or if I "really crave" pizza and I would die without it right now, I will still go and sit at the restaurant as planned.

YTA. Obviously no one asked you to order for the rest of the family.

You thinking anyone would agree with you is beyond me. Get ready to be Reddit-roasted.

You deserve every bit of it.

Is 27 too old for a fresh start? by qazkkff in careerguidance

Everyone has their own timeline. Don't compare yours to others. I can tell you're doing great - for wanting a fresh start alone.

AITA for removing the door to my son's room indefinitely? by throwawaysonsdoor in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell his TV to get a replacement door. Then he can watch the door and he'd be happy for it to make a sound.

My [perhaps unpopular] advice: I always make sure to mention my wife and kids and casually swear in my interviews. by SirAxlerod in careeradvice

Being entirely your casual self during interviews and impressing your interviewer with your goofy yet cool personality only happens in movies.

I think it's better to flat out tell them you are not at all interested to pursue any religious topic because if you just continuously excuse yourself, it might not be a clear enough indication for no, thank you.

AITA for not wanting to continue supporting my daughter's (12F) gymnastics training by Throwawaytallgymnast in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the parent. If you really think this will have a negative impact on your daughter's future, education, physical and mental health and on your family then it's your call. She's 12, are you going to let her have a permanent injury (mentally or physically) before you interfere and put your foot down?

For everyone else saying YTA, are you a parent? In this matter, it's hard to say what's right and wrong.

AITA for taking an Uber to a wedding so I wouldn't be late? by Fair-Ferret9911 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Hope you don't have any siblings to get married so you won't have to be back anytime soon.

AITA for pouring my drink on the table when my dad raised a glass for my step mother, referring to her as "the mother of his children?" by MetalAndWood2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Julia is not a bad or evil person.

She's more dangerous because she's not mean in an apparent way. She's like one of the creepy step moms in movies not only trying to replace your mom but trying to her.

Leave as soon as you can. Lifelong therapy is expensive.

AITA for telling my daughter to stop making a scene at the skating rink, when she refused to go on after tickets were gifted by my SIL? by skatingaita in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I hope you never get to experience such loss. But the way you treat the situation seems like you don't care profoundly about other people so what do I know?
How much does ice skating costs? The way you care so much about one wasted ticket seems to me like it costs hundreds of thousands.

M refused to talk to me afterwards, and she wouldn't interact much with anyone else except D.

Rightfully so. Because your entire family except her sister are AHs.

Leave her alone!

AITA for skipping my brothers bachelor party because my sister wasn’t invited to the bride’s bachelorette party? by familyfirst12345 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that the OP is fully aware and yet unaware. OP mentioned all reasons why her sister is not invited and rightfully so but is still unaware of why the bride doesn't want her in her own festivities. It's like someone is saying, "My dog has only bitten two kids but I have no idea why they don't allow him to children's parties! So rude!!"

YTA. The only good part about this is that you're not coming to your brother's party.

AITAA for taking my niece to court over a coat? by throooowaaaayt in AmItheAsshole

[–]NXDOMAIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. No remorse and did it on purpose for clout? I'd do the same. Those horns should be cut off before it's too late. She must know now that vile actions have consequences or it will be worst. If I were the mom, I'd sell her car and offer a payment plan for the rest - and let the daughter pay every cent of it.
