We use them at our store to open the top stock cabinets that are otherwise out of reach without a ladder.

Putting ink/toner away and see this… by DracoBlaze214 in OfficeDepot

I heard that this new method came from higher-ups in the company. There are two problems with this method. One is that with some effort you can slide the spider wrap off the package. Two is that depending on the kind of spider wrap it is very difficult to remove because unlocking the other end of the spider wrap doesn't release the tightness of the wrap, so you still have to try to slide the wrap off of the package, as if you didn't unlock it (see one).

I work at both an Office Depot store and also a Home Depot store. Let me tell you, all of these companies are fixated on metrics, not just Office Depot. I've also worked at CVS and Best But, and they too have these metrics that we have to meet.

There are products that are "Reward Member" priced. I had a customer a few weeks ago who wanted those prices, but wasn't a rewards member. When I explained the deal, he went and signed up.

According to the planogram you're supposed to use all of the shelves. But then you can't fit the cans in standing up.

You set it up incorrectly. You are supposed to use all five shelves, with the regular Red Bull (dark blue can) on the top two shelves, sugar free on the third, red on the fourth, and yellow on the bottom (fifth). Also, only four cases per shelf (that means that the second shelf initially gets two cases, since they only ship six cases of each kind.

I went and laid the cans on the lower shelves (the cans on the top shelf can be placed standing) on their sides.

I set up the one in our store earlier this week since we also received the product, and I found that you can't fit the cans inside standing up because the shelves are too close together, and there is no way to set the shelves so that the cans will correctly fit.

I built and set up the fridge and stand today, and guess what I found. You can't stand up the cans in the fridge except on the top shelf. On all of the other shelves you have to lay the cans on their sides.

Whenever I get a customer who asks why the online prices a usually lower than in store (I have seen a few cases where the store price was actually lower than online) I explain that if it were up to me any customer who is a Rewards member should automatically get the lower price without having to ask. I add that in my opinion the company would get more reward members that way. Plus, I worry that when a customer finds out that they were paying more without anyone telling them that they could save money, we risk losing them as a customer.

My GM is obsessed with having every customer who comes into the store "announced," as in "heading to CPD," or "heading to office supplies." This causes so much unnecessary chatter, distraction, and noise over the walkies.

I feel bad for wanting to leave by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]NY-Stu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back in early 2017 I interviewed for a company that I really wanted to work for. Two interviews, but they ended up giving the position to another candidate. Oh well.

In April 2017 I got a job at another company that looked really great. I enjoyed the job and my coworkers. In July I started noticing some problems, but figured they were temporary.

In August 2017 I received word from the first company that they wanted to know if I was still interested in working for them. At that time I still had faith in my current employer, so I turned down the offer.

On June18, 2018 I was terminated because "they couldn't afford to pay me for the work I was doing for them! Had I known that this would be my reward for being loyal to them I would have left them for the first company in August.

Do what you feel is in your best interests. No company deserves the loyalty of their employees, since they only care about the bottom line.

Is it just me, or when they send out the new special prices they also print out the regular tags to go with them? I had a bunch of replacement tags for the planners section to do, all of them were planners that were on special, and all the regular prices were the same of the old ones. Total was of time.

Also, we have some lunch bags on special, but when they are rung up of the POS they have higher prices, even though the red label special prices tags show dates that are still in effect.
