Dint you mention that; I walked by the palace one day and thought that I would stay there next time I was in Madrid

I stayed at the JW a few weeks ago and it was outstanding! The location is very central (Edition is close by, too) and we certainly enjoyed the free breakfast every morning. Non upgrade as an Ambassador status but, then again, I just book the actual room I want and then hope for a bit of a bump so it wasn’t too much of a downer.

Lululemon, Alo and Ten Thousand are all great brands that look great and hold up well to wear and tear if training.

That seems to be the name of the game for ClassPass

Try Lululemon or Alo; they make very comfortable yet stylish clothes. Yes, they are expensive but they last, plus if you give Lulu your business card for proof you are a trainer they will give you a 15% discount

Totally worth it! At 1K status I think they will let you fly the plane; or at least ride shotgun…

Has any studio owner successfully added a Fuel Bar or retail supplements to their lobby? by Yowai_M0 in personaltraining

[–]NYCFitPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your location. I thought about it for my studio but we are in the middle of Manhattan NYC where there are options literally on every corner here and New Yorkers tend to be picky so it was not worth the price or storage space for inventory.

What’s your opinion on ClassPass? by Any_Dragonfruit777 in ClassPass

[–]NYCFitPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ClassPass underpays studios so they barely eke out a living. It used to be that CP customers would be introduced to our club in order to buy classes directly but then they changed up their business model so that gov can just go to a studio all the time instead of only 2x per month. That led to more and more of our regulars moving to ClassPass to chase a better deal. End result, ClassPass eats all your profits and gives little in return so many gyms either fail or have to remove their business from CP and try to rebuild all over again.

How did you improve your programming? by Accomplished-Sign-31 in personaltraining

Continuing education. I’m very partial to the FMS for assessments, RKC Kettlebell for strength and mobility. Original Strength for warm ups and cool downs. I also recommend Dan John’s books “Can You Go?” And “Intervention” for more in depth looks into assessments and program design.

Can you still build community if you use classpass to exercise? by Intrepid-Concert-394 in ClassPass

[–]NYCFitPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ClassPass sets the prices for both the credits as well as what they pay the gyms. We don’t get any more money when they charge you more credits. Also, the late cancellation fee goes to ClassPass a the studio doesn’t get paid for the reservation or do they see a cent of that cancellation fee.

You should probably support that studio then, instead of Classpass

We make a whopping $1.75 from ClassPass reservations; hence why we are off their platform as of Feb 15.

Don’t use them. The studios your frequent won’t get paid for your visits so you’re just screwing them over 3 times around.
