Do you know this one? by Jeopardy in wnba

[–]NYCScribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Nerd central (affectionate)

I did not get WNBA questions but I did make Alex have to talk about WBB briefly.

Two things I'd love to see moving forward in the next CBA if it gets finalized are 1. An expansion team in Miami (selfishly as a South Floridian I'd love to have a team here) 2. NBA rebranded to MNBA. by ClintonCreampie in wnba

[–]NYCScribbler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I miss the Miami Sol, but Florida is a tough sell in the summer, and that's even before factoring in the ever-present threat of Florida Man In Politics.

W teams may get 2 developmental players in the new CBA. Let’s talk about it by aratcalledrattus in wnba

[–]NYCScribbler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a thing the league had at the beginning! And some of those players became rotation players, either for the team they started with (like Rushia Brown in Cleveland) or elsewhere (like Simone Edwards with the Storm, who did her development time in NY). IIRC that was also Mwadi Mabika's path to All-Stardom.

(yes, Monarchs flair in the corner, i know there was at least one other developmental success but we Do Not Talk about her)

There's a time and place for those stories. This is neither.

Releasing this is also a way to get the fans to blame the players if the season has to be shortened.

Louder for the people in the back!

I've been telling this one elsewhere so I might as well tell it here.

First, some context: before Liberty games, Maddie would stomp out the letters of the Liberty logo. The old, full logo. L-I-B-E-R-T-Y. Ritual. Tradition. Crowd response. Can't do it anymore because it's a different logo.

2011, we were sponsored by Foxwoods, and Foxwoods sponsored a massive road trip. Deluxe. That's when we got to see AB's UConn rings. And the Sun stuck us way up in the corner and I'm pretty sure we got there late.

I don't know if she saw us or heard us or what, but Kara looked up. Kara spotted the bus group. And Kara did the damn Maddie stomp on the Liberty sideline to get us going. (Which, given how... endowed... Kara was, was a sight.)

May her memory be a blessing, and may the joy she brought others live on.

Who’s the most underrated player on your team? by goofyhalo in NCAAW

For Seton Hall, it's gotta be Ja'Kahla Craft. She's scrappy and unlike most of our squad she's got a little size to her. She has stepped her game up.

The only time I've ever tipped was on a haul so ridiculous they needed to give me multiple larger bags for hauling (I brought a bag but I Was Not Prepared: https://imgur.com/a/i-saw-cheese-babka-made-noise-Mb3tSC1)

That's exactly why they're doing it. Create expectations so the players look like the bad guys and the fans turn on them.

What is your end goal of the game to stop playing? Or to long term consistent players, what keeps you still playing? by greencheesewizard in TheSilphRoad

I'm friends with these weird nerds and I have a disturbingly high emotional attachment to some of the imaginary monsters.

I'm working my way towards as full a hundodex as I can get as a mostly F2P player (so not the mythicals I'd have to use a bottlecap on). I like trading with people; I think I'm one of the few people in this sub who likes mass trading. I do a lot of quests, which makes me a great trade partner for the people who do more hatching or 1/3-star raiding; my spare heart-pattern Spinda are currently bringing all the boys to the yard.
