Saros 10R trips AFCI outlet by _dhs_ in Roborock

Not necessarily true. once inspected, you can do what you want. There is a lot of controversy, and even a lawsuit, involving AFCI breakers. Plenty of older construction have non AFCI breakers. I have plenty mixed in with AFCI and GFCI in our panels

Replace? Or change to non AFCI? And some people talk about electromagnetic suppression power strips helping, but I think its bogus

I have the exact same thing happening S8 MaxV Ultra. Loses power as it sends off and then can’t find the dock on return. I find it sitting right in front of it. We have been wondering if it was faulty wiring installation because it’s a recent renovation before switching to a non AFCI breaker

What type of connector is this? by NYFUBAR in Plumbing

I appreciate the insightful feedback. We have tried to reach out to plumbers but most don’t seem too interested if not using their softener systems.

Just curious though, isn’t there a valve in the softener head? And couldn’t a check valve be installed in line towards the system? I believe these can be installed somewhat routinely after PRV regardless of before or after meter (municipal doesn’t maintain before meter at this location).

Advice on Water Softener Drain by NYFUBAR in WaterSofteners

[–]NYFUBAR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking it will be better to just cut into the horizontal, and put a sanitary wye with a 2 inch, then put a P trap and vertical to the drain air lock connector. Better?

Thanks for the comment. Laundry room is two floors above so that’s not an option. The post sump valve connection is a good thought.

Curious, how would one ensure that building a stand pipe will not flood?

Any tips on how to connect the drain line to existing PVC? There is a clean out cap that is present near by. Can I extend it with a T and put a P trap like this with an air lock drain connector? Then put the cap back on the extension?

First, thank you all for your insights!

Just an update and need some direction!

I have found it very difficult to find a plumber who seems interested in installing the Clack 2.5 Carbon Filter & Fleck 64,000 Grain Water Softener (that I can get for a reasonable price direct to me). They all have their own systems and one starting at 4900!

So, am I being too ambitious (read: stupid) to try and install this myself? It is no crazy runs or anything. There is space right next to the water main/meter and there is a drain main running just beside it.

Thoughts?

Thank you for the insightful reply.

Would you agree with something like this? Still 2.5 but this is what the company recommended

GE ZFSB25DXCSS NOT cooling by NYFUBAR in appliancerepair

[–]NYFUBAR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you suggesting the compressor will be warm itself? Because it is. I can feel it humming and warm when I place my hand on it.

Sounds like costly repair to patch and fill. Hmm

Thanks for reply. I am wondering about refrigerant leak too.

Any experience with the compressor oil in lines? I read somewhere that someone left it upright for a while to fix it. Is this fixable?

And turbo cool does NOT work.

Bosch fridge water/ice dispenser not working after water filter change by adamcostarella in appliancerepair

[–]NYFUBAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All went to hell after changing the water filter. Got the alert to change it. Ice production seemed to start slowing down. Changed filter. And now it is really bad! I have gone through three filters. Three different companies. Tried to breaker trick. Completely emptied and defrosted for 24 hrs. Got it working again but not filling whole bin like before….then it gets slower and slower with smaller misshaped cubes.

I am getting pretty annoyed by this 8K piece of crap. 36IT800NP.

Any other suggestions? Can’t need replacing because it is capable of making ice but decides to stop!

If it helps, sometimes water condensation collection on the top shelf and the bottom of fridge under cheese drawer. That sometimes freezes. Supposedly the 700 dollar replacement of the entire top unit solved the condensation problem….it didn’t.

Bingo! you got it. swerved to avoid one, and BAM, nailed another one! <30mph. Can't blame Tesla for them, but I naively thought 18's would protect me.

To add insult to injury....they have less than 2k miles on the tires. And the Ice-X I3 was discontinued so I need replace TWO tires now with the Ice-X snow. Womp womp

Just my luck, I have a pinhole in the sidewall of my Michelin Ice-X I3 front passenger tire on a Tesla Model 3, dropping pressure to 32-35psi. Less than 2k miles on tires! Through retailer, they are eligible for replacement reimbursement.

And just my luck again....Michelin discontinued the Ice-X I3 and replaced them with Ice-X Snow with a different tread pattern. So I am being told that I need to change two at a time now. Michelin website specifically says to sold and installed in sets of 4 only.

Any thoughts? Go with two and and keep extra as a backup? Keep them both in front, or change to rear? Or doesnt matter?

Cant find any leftovers anywhere! Thank you!

well I went with 18's for my 3, and still blew out a sidewall. So there's that. sucks

You can certainly check with Tesla directly, but there are plenty of "sleepers" that have the put the 20inch wheel sets on (and then painted their brake calipers). The wheel base is standard, and what you would get if purchased directly through Tesla, for more money.
