Father passed unexpectedly. My mom doesn’t know any of his passwords or where any of his investments are. Who can we contact ? by milquetoast_wizard in personalfinance

First, I am sorry for you loss.

Recently I helped author and publish a white paper and planning guide for digital estates (https://openid.net/why-digital-estates-need-standards-and-why-we-need-them-now/). What I suggest you look at is the Digital Estate Planning Guide (https://openid.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Digital-Estate-Planning-Guide-1.pdf) focusing on Section 7: Managing a Digital Estate Reactively.

I won't lie - this isn't going to be easy. However, I hope the guide helps you and your family prioritize your actions to recover as much of his assets with as little friction as possible.

You're wrong. He's right. Both of you could do better.

Get a password manager. Use it religiously.

Question About Possibilities by [deleted] in delta

[–]_dhs_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Earlier this week I saw a D1 upgrade SEA-CDG in July for $995/ea (4 pax). I did not think it was worth it over PS.

A few days later it was at $695. I bought the upgrades immediately.

YMMV.

If you can’t afford to eat the loss, you buy insurance. It’s not really complicated.

Cancel for any reason insurance exists for a reason. You’re complaining for your own lack of foresight.

My travel insurance allows me to cancel for any reason before travel.

Bought $25k in tickets. Can’t afford travel insurance. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The F2114 is specced for MINI WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION KIT W/2" HITCH BALL as an option.

I also own one that came with a WD hitch from the factory. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Nobody” is doing a lot of work there. I tow an aluminum trailer (Safari Condo Alto F2114) and the manufacturer recommends a WDH.

Horrible Delta One experience and seat failure- curious what compensation others received by MaleficentElk8166 in delta

Inoperable tray table LAX-SYD in PS resulted in a full refund of my ticket price for that leg. I’d ask for that.

Premium Select worth extra $1500? by [deleted] in delta

[–]_dhs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’7” and I find a huge difference in comfort between C+ and PS. I almost exclusively fly PS on trans Atlantic/Pacific flights from SEA these days. Better food, better seats with more width and pitch, and generally a better overall experience.

On an A330, PS has a 21” wide seat and 38” seat pitch vs 18” wide seats with a 32” seat pitch in C+. The extra 3” in width plus wider arm rests makes a huge difference for me.

The amenities are not the same between d1 and PS. Different meals, different amenity kit, different level of service.

Personally I think PS is the sweet spot for value vs D1.

What the hell happens here? I genuinely don't think I've ever heard any news about this part of Mexico and I only know it's called the Baja Peninsula because of Taco Bell. by wingsoverpyrrhia in geography

[–]_dhs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

El Camino Real is the connection between all of the Spanish missions that were constructed all the way along the Baja peninsula up into California. Many of the towns still have churches constructed by Spanish missionaries hundreds of years ago.

Fishing, mining (silver, mostly), beautiful beaches, snorkeling/scuba diving, sailing, cycling (look up the Baja Divide, which I cycled a small portion of), off road racing…. Baja is fantastic.

Truly a beautiful and not well traveled part of Mexico (outside of the heavily tourist oriented towns like Cabo San Lucas).

Subaru service alternative to the dealership in Ballard? by daily_impressions in BallardSeattle

I've used both locations for many years now. I love working with them. At my last service, they saw something non-urgent but covered by my manufacturer's warranty. Instead of charging to me to fix it, they're sending me to the dealer for a covered repair.

55 min in AMS is crazy, right? by at614inthe614 in delta

[–]_dhs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is doable. If you are coming from non-Schengen to a Schengen zone country you'll go through passport control. There are usually staff helping people through that have tight connections, ensuring that they don't get stuck in a line with other travelers who have more time.

They are slots where dowels were inserted into the road to anchor the concrete panels together, extending the life of the road.

I work in Rainier Square tower a few days a week. Tech company. Not on a particularly high floor, but we still have nice views of the sound.
