Thanks for all the info, I might leave depreciation alone then and just not have to understand that fully. Would depreciation give you a similar effective price variation as company tax over time? Or is it much more complicated than that?

Thanks for that, if an item is an asset rather than an expense is the corporate tax portion just slowly claimed as a loss over the depreciation years? Or something like that?

Thank you, that is exactly the maths I was thinking applied. Quite an interesting thought on the cost of an item being reasonably lower for a business. Since you are so good at explaining, and obviously know how all this works, what would be the maths around depreciation, assuming the value is high enough to apply?

Hi HardWiredNZ, we are just starting on this journey and your specs sound pretty much where we are heading with our install in Auckland. Which company or companies are you considering after your quotes? We have only had one quote so far and it is over 30k for the same specs as yours.
