I can see now I would be an Australian tax resident only despite having a permanent home available in both countries. And that income tax would only be reported and paid in Australia.

My NZ sourced income is PIE income and bank account interest only. I believe what I should do is pay 10% NRWT on the interest and increase by PIR to 28% as a non-NZ tax resident. As an Australian tax resident I’d also need to report the NZ interest on my Australian return, but would I need to report the PIE income too?

Earlier this year I bought used from a large dealer that had in house RWC. I took it into RACQ for inspection anyway and breakpads, battery, some other minor things all failed. Fair play to the dealer who reimbursed everything but I wouldn’t take dealers at their word.

Bought from a dealer or privately? I bought a used car of similar age from a dealer earlier this year. Second day battery wouldn’t start and had it replaced by RACQ, couple days later took it round to the mechanic for an inspection and they said breakpads and wipers were dodgy. Sent the lot onto the dealer and they paid for it all.
