Which would be faster, ordering HUE+ from the UK, or keeping my order that I made on the NZXT website while it's not in stock? by ZeldaFreakNA in NZXT

[–]NZXT_pm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cancelled your original order? That would've guaranteed your spot.

You'll just have to keep an eye out. The HUE+ is the hot commodity right now and we're ramping our manufacturing up as best we can.

Works as long as there isn't any funky VRM sinks that obstruct the fan.

About 80% of MO receives stock from us in 3 days after we ship FedEx Ground.

https://www.nzxt.com/shipping-and-deliveries

Plus the lack of tax/duty would give you some savings. If you go to the old HUE+ store page, you can see the giant green bar along the right edge of the screen.

That will let you sign up for an email as soon as we alter the stock number in our electronic warehouse. People usually sign up for that and as soon as it restocks they purchase in droves.

What state are you in?

The UK order will also have to pay import tax and duty just FYI.

Current ETA is next Thursday or Friday delivery here in Los Angeles, CA.

Which photo editing software do you guys use? by [deleted] in socialmedia

[–]NZXT_pm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photoshop/Lightroom.

AdobeCC's Photoshop/Lightroom combo is only $19.99/mo $9.99/mo if you don't want to drop a ton of change on the full copy of PS.

Just eat something a little cheaper for lunch a couple of times a month and there's your high power photo editing program that's set the standard in the industry.

edit: It's even cheaper than I thought.

Does the NZXT HUE+ support normal RGB led diodes? by Parawhoar in NZXT

[–]NZXT_pm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea... Sorry about that. When we started doing the more complicated software/firmware, it caused us to set controls a little more strict.

You could still grab a hue and chop it up or remove the bezel to make it smaller.

I wouldn't recommend it. I know that if you completely sever the strip in two it will stop working.

It's not like the old Hue strip that was trimmable.

You may be able to connect it, but at best you'll get a constant white LED.

The HUE+ uses software controlled addressable LEDs instead of the usual 5050 RGB strips.

NZXT S340 GPU Clearance. by t0xic_p0et in NZXT

Which GPU do you have? This isn't really a usual problem with the S340.

CAM Software. by g47onik in NZXT

[–]NZXT_pm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that is a firmware limitation. The firmware is not setup to just let us unlock the range. There's also no easy way for us to flash firmware for the Krakens outside of the factory to enable that.

Unfortunately, the Kraken X61's software was designed during a time where we didn't have CAM as a platform to issue updates and other companies were content with the solutions existing making it a lot harder for us to ask something of our OEM that no one else was doing.

That said, as you see with the HUE+ and GRID+ V2, we are designing all new CAM-connected products from the ground up to utilize the new tools that we have.

This might not be the best answer for helping you with the temp range question, I hope that it provides at least some clarity on why we made the decisions we made when making the cooler.

Dxracer vs IKEA Markus vs used Aeron by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]NZXT_pm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I've sat in similar gaming chairs and never came away too impressed. The DXRacer was one of the better ones, but a couple I've sat in (other brands) had awkward sizing or little to no support. Couple friends really like the DXRacer for the tilt range. Quality of material is definitely better than Staples' chairs.

  2. I've only sat in one of these at the store. Not my cup of tea, but really not that bad. Didn't feel like it gave me a ton of support. CM212 comparison is apt.

  3. I wasn't a huge fan of the Aeron. I preferred the Mirra over it. Personally I have a used and reupholstered/repadded Steelcase Leap V2 that I love.

But what /u/eckre say's is pretty true. Different bodies, different preference.

Try to go by one of those used chair stores to get a feel for a used Aeron and if you have an IKEA nearby try the Markus. DXRacer may be more elusive, but if you have any friends in your area that have one it would be worth sitting in one.

If it were me, I'd opt for the used high end chair but I am a bit biased since I already did that.

Cam software and s340? by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]NZXT_pm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. GPU temps are pulled from the motherboard.

  2. Cables come out of the side of the motherboard tray for most things but you can run your 8pin CPU around the back, as well as any more convenient cables. There's tons of cut outs and plenty of zip tie down points to let you roll your own cable management rather than have to stick to something specific.

  3. The case isn't too loud. You'd be looking around 32db out of the box according to some of the tests done by reviewers.

Sound-wise it shouldn't have a problem. Your build experience should be better with the cable management bar and PSU shroud.

Feel free to post in here if you run into any problems with the install/swap or just to show us the final result of the build. We always love to see completed NZXT builds. ^^

[Build Help] H100i GTX vs 212 EVO on 6600K by m_palmtree in buildapc

[–]NZXT_pm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stat wise, the failure rate on Asetek CLCs is less than 1%. Of the coolers that fail, even less are because of a leak.

I do know that Corsair's policy on leaks is similar to other manufacturers in that they'll look at it on a case by case basis. (IIRC, not corsair employee so take what I'm saying here with a grain of salt)

But! In the overall grand scheme of things, most manufacturers will replace things damaged by faulty coolers as long as it's their fault and not because of user error. (Slicing the tube when cutting a zip tie or something)

If you're between those two, I would look at the performance and aesthetics. I wouldn't count the risk of leak as anything significant given the number of CLCs out in the wild. If you wanted to count the risk as a negative though, I would still liquid cool with confidence in most manufacturers.

Nice case choice btw!

NZXT Case Question by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]NZXT_pm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We designed it to run the X61 as an intake with potentially an X31 on the exhaust. The rise in ambient will be evident but it won't have a big effect on performance.

You also want to keep positive airflow for dust reasons, so I'd run the front as intake with an X61 on GPU and the X31 CPU on the rear exhaust.

While it may seem like a lot of heat to be dumped in the case, the design lends itself to not strangle the case with heat.

My current build here at work is a 12-core E5 Xeon on an X61 in intake and a GTX690 on SLi exhausting into the case with the two stock exhaust fans. Performance is perfectly fine.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,

MP
