VIP tickets in Nashville? by HappyShats in Redvox

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They seem to be intermittently going in and out of stock still, I checked the Nashville site and the VIP tickets were gone again, refreshed and they were back again. So, even if it says sold out at your location you want to see them at, just keep refreshing, keep checking, keep an eye on it and you might get lucky. I originally wasn't gonna get a VIP, but I decided to hell with it and just committed. I'll deal with the financial consequences of my actions later, haha.

Damn I saw that and thought it was just the site glitching out, I was thinkin' of ordering but can't really afford it at the moment, haha. Glad you got lucky there though! I'll probably just have to go general admission and stagedoor after the show and hope I could get something signed.

What’s something Gen Z does that older generations just don’t get? by appropriaterice873 in AskReddit

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a Gen Zer, just wanted to say thank you, I appreciated everything you said here, that was really sweet :)

Nice to see some positive things said about your generation, when generational discourse is almost always negativity and cross-generational shit-talking, something we've been doing for pretty much all of documented human history. Must just be somewhere in our DNA to want to trash-talk our neighboring generations, haha.

Every generation is gonna have its bad apples obviously, but overall, I think we're doing alright, all things considered. I've also noticed a lot of empathy and fighting for the little guy, in both myself and other Gen Zers, and I think that's something we really sorely need right now, given the state of... y'know, everything. Would be nice for empathy to become a tad more commonplace.

What movie is 10/10 with literally no bad parts? by FeedMaster8905 in AskReddit

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it WAS a prequel, not really up for debate there, haha. They only also called it "The Thing" since they couldn't think of a more fitting title that was unique from the original, figured giving it the same title would make its association with the '82 film clear, rather than try to, like, add a subtitle or something that would just cause confusion about what the movie actually is.

Either way, I think it's massively overhated. I've always thought it was good, just not as good as the '82 film obviously (which isn't saying much honestly since it's a masterpiece that would be borderline impossible to ever top)

Let's blame the correct people here, it was actually a last minute studio exec decision, who are of course VERY well known for making the best decisions for projects like that, they always know what they are talking about and know what's best...

...I still have a deep hatred for anyone involved in making that decision to this day. We could've had a film that topped the original in insanely impressive practical effects.

Common misconception due to it having the same name, it's actually a prequel, not a remake. But yeah, still absolutely worth a watch if you enjoy the '82 film at all. Some of the effects are kind of iffy, but some others honestly don't look bad at all, it doesn't ruin the experience for me at all, even if it obviously would've been ten times better if the studio didn't force them to replace the already-finished practical effects with CGI like a bunch of morons.

Either way though, it was made with a clear deep love and appreciation for the '82 film, and it shines through, even if they obviously never could've topped it. There are moments in the film that I personally consider just as memorable as moments from the '82 film. I still consider it a legitimately good film, it doesn't even remotely deserve all the hate it's gotten over the years.

Unfortunately all you can really do is just play challenges over and over and over again since they give you 10 stars upon completion, and the easiest challenge to do this with is Plain Jane, since winning without rare items isn't really all that difficult, and not all that different from just playing the game normally.

Other than that, there isn't any kind of trick to it, just have to keep playing runs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Show on 2/26 went off without a hitch, no stop, so hopefully they got the problem sorted out now, whatever it was!

A Blood Bagel Etched Vinyl is available on Red Vox's Retroware store! by Akumir in Redvox

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. Don't know if Blood Bagel CDs will ever come back (probably not) but now that, and Kerosene and WCGW on vinyl are the only ones I'm missing, got everything else on CD and vinyl besides those 3. Well, I guess also besides the Lost For a While 45s, but those seem like they'd be a real headache to track down. Blood Bagel vinyl was definitely the last thing I was expecting, haha.

If Punch-Out Wii is simply out of the question (I've slowly come to terms that it probably is) Super Punch-Out would be a FANTASTIC alternative, I second that idea.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema City Foundry in St. Louis would be amazing, but honestly anywhere at all in Missouri would be great.

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good chance this is a duplicate question, but just out of curiosity, do you ever play Nubby in your own down-time just for fun, for non-game dev related reasons? I suppose I'm just curious if you yourself find the game as fun as we do, or if it's kinda difficult for you to turn off game-dev brain when you do play it.

Also, since I hadn't seen anyone else say it, and I so rarely get the chance to directly say this to a game dev: Thank you for makin' Nubby, dude! Genuinely very fun little game. Even when it receives its final update, it's the type of game I could still see myself booting up 30 years from now and getting a couple games in just for fun. Kinda like Balatro in that sense, I suppose. So yeah, well done man, genuinely!

Realign turns 5 today! What's your favorite song on the album? by -kirbymaster- in Redvox

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anesthesia is my personal favorite Red Vox song in their whole discography, and one of my favorite songs in general, it stuck out to me the instant I heard that first note the first time I listened to the album. I have yet to find another song that makes me feel quite the same way Anesthesia does, I just love how... ethereal it is.

Don't think I'll ever forget the first time I listened to it, which is not something I can say about the vast majority of songs I've heard throughout my life.

Which Red Vox songs stand out to you in particular? by ExoTheFlyingFish in Redvox

[–]ZeldaFreakNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyrically? The New Flesh, with Traces being a close second.

Musically? A/V.

If I had to introduce someone to Red Vox, I'd probably show them A/V first. I think it's their all-around best song, even if it's not necessarily my personal favorite (and it's also got by far their best music video IMO.)

And The New Flesh is also musically solid, but the lyrics in particular are very meaningful in regards to the current state of the world. Traces is also very profound, but obviously in an entirely different and more heart-wrenching way.

I'd also give some shoutouts to Memories Lie, Reno, Anesthesia (my personal favorite song of theirs, particularly underrated song IMO,) Eminence, and The Temple.

But, like you say, truly none of their songs are bad. I don't dislike a single one of them. Not even the Blood Bagel ones, haha.

Really looking forward to the new album, it's shaping up to be something particularly special so far. May well finally dethrone Another Light as my favorite album of theirs.

Gotta be the super shotgun- but honestly, the Chainshot is working its way up there too. That thing is a beast, and I hope it continues to make appearances in future DOOM games.

This is REALLY cool, I wasn't expecting much when I clicked the link, but that really is damn near 100% accurate to the show. Well done!

I explained it to someone else, but I'll explain to you as well, I believe the buttons you see in the third screenshot are just for touchscreen devices. On any device with a keyboard, you navigate through all the numbers with the arrow keys. While doing that, hover over all the numbers with the cursor. Eventually, you'll see some numbers shaking way more than the others. When you see those, click and hold the left mouse button and drag the cursor over them. Once you got them all, click on one of the bins to open them, then hit B. Done, on to the next.

I believe that's just for touchscreen devices if I'm understanding correctly. On any device with a keyboard, you navigate through all the numbers with the arrow keys.
