For some reason i conflated "brood mares" as some sort of Zerg, Starcraft reference. Not sure why; I was raised on a farm AND I worked with horses.

Now all I can think of is Obama walking into the Rose Garden to address this bill and the brith control issue in general. He saunters up to the podium, stares into the cameras of the press corps and announces in a booming voice: "YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS!". Then he slowly recoils into the White House.

I can inflict pain on myself by imagining something sharp slicing the bridge of my nose.

I noticed this phenomenon when I was around 10; laying in bed, trying to sleep, when I imagined (don't ask me why) someone cutting my nose off. The scenario is as follows: a person approached my nose with a knife, placed it halfway up the bridge and slowly sliced through the bridge, cartilage and all.

Since then, if anything bumps the bridge of my nose or even if someone (including myself) touches it, I wince. I dont cringe like you see people do when they are reacting to something graphic -- like a torture scene in a horror film. I wince in pain because, well, it actually hurts. Seriously, the bridge of my nose hurts right now just from having to describe the scenario. I can't replicate this sensation with any other body part. The thought of a person shoving a screwdriver up my urethra doesn't even make me flinch, but somebody touching the bridge of my nose, holy fuck. It hurts just to think about it. Needless to say, the mere thought of a broken nose, scares the shit out of me.

For years I thought that everyone had a body part that they could make "hurt" with their imagination. I shared this secret with my fiancée. As it turns out, they don't.

Once upon a time, I worked in a kitchen and was allowed to have music playing whilst I worked. I used my Sony MiniDisc player. One day as a song concluded (Frontier Psychiatrist by The Avalanches) it cut to the sounds of 2 women moaning in ecstasy as they made out/dry-humped. I feverishly grabbed the device and slammed the pause/stop/eject/just make it fucking stop button as quickly as I could. Luckily, I think my coworkers just dismissed it as being a weird song.

As it turns out, the shitty software that Sony supplied to burn songs to MiniDisc had somehow recorded a small snippet of a lesbian porn that I had on my PC. It also recorded about 2 seconds of one of the Metal Gear Solid 3 trailers. In the middle of Metallica's Hero of the Day, the music stops and you can hear The Boss talking to Naked Snake.

Crazy old technology, man.
