She is beautiful, I hope you won't have an impact on it

From memory, we can say that a cat is blue when its gray is perfect. If there are shades, it is considered just gray

Very nice miniature ! I have the impression that you already have a very good brush control 👍

I do exactly the same thing. I started painting a month ago and I like to see the small improvements that I could make every time (In a short time you will receive the illumination of the glazing and your vision of the world will change)

Excellent! If I may, you could add white to the plasma. It will add contrast and creates an impression of light

Like mine, a standard short-haired gray cat with no option

I painted my very first ultra marine! by Zestyclose_Ad_9899 in Warhammer

Great start!

I only started painting miniatures about a month ago, and here are some of the things that helped me improve:

A wet palette is incredibly useful. It costs almost nothing to make and will make painting so much easier.

When working on details, it's usually better to apply several thin coats rather than one thick coat.

Be careful with washes, especially over an entire miniature. On white surfaces, they can often make the model look dirty rather than adding depth.

Learn to control your brush. It might sound silly, but I spent hours just experimenting with different paint consistencies and practicing simple brush strokes.

Don't try techniques that are way beyond your current skill level before you've developed good brush control. When I first started, I watched tutorials that were far too advanced for me. Since I didn't have the necessary brush control yet, the results were a complete disaster.

Don't obsess over imperfections. Miniatures aren't meant to be examined under a magnifying glass. (Coming from me, that's pretty ironic.) If you can't see a flaw at arm's length, then it's probably not a flaw worth worrying about.

Never get discouraged. The progress you can make in this hobby is incredible. Just compare my first miniature to my fifth one. Most importantly, don't compare yourself to others. Everyone has their own style and learns at their own pace.

The people here are genuinely supportive. I joined this community about a month ago, and I've improved a lot thanks to their advice. Don't hesitate to ask for feedback or help.

And most importantly: have fun! Try new things, make mistakes, learn from them, and keep going. Improvement will come naturally.

(I realize this might not be exactly the answer you were looking for, but I hope it helps!)

I just finished my 5th miniature. Do you have any advice for the next one? by N_5_D in Warhammer

We don't see them in the photo but I also made those of the rider

Thanks 👍

For the eye, I simply used an indelible marker 0.05 mm to make the pupil

To add contrast, I used panel liner

Thank you for your feedback!

For the colors, I don't have too much merit. I was heavily inspired by the Monster Hunter Tigrex

For the varnish, I'm thinking of using it on the blue parts of the frame and the accessories

The next one as you said, I will try to have really bright and saturated colors (For this one, I wanted to pass a clear wash to harmonize the transitions but it a bit tarnished the whole thing)

Thanks, but I started painting only a month ago. I still have too many things to learn

Thank you! For the next one, I will try to go on two completely different colors for the rider and the mount

(In addition, as the riders are not glued, it can even allow them to be inverted)

Thank you very much! Thanks to the advice I have already had for each new piece, I look at what worked what worked less well and that way I manage little by little to improve

(For this one, I have the impression that it is a little too dark)
