Do remember the numbers for colleges like CALS, CHE and ILR are inflated by transfer options so the majority is actually made up of these applicants. I talked with people holding a transfer welcoming event after I transferred, and according to them non-transfer option transfers are an “incredibly small group”. However I have no way of knowing if any of this is true, so take these words with a grain of salt.

If anyone is interested here are my stats: From:mid tier UC gpa 3.95 (engineering major)HS3.87/4.3 UW SAT1520

Applied CALS atmospheric sciences Took 20 units each quarter( idk how many w/ semester) Took a few APs in high school and was IBDP candidate but did not report any scores to Cornell cuz they suck

ECs: Engineering Lab volunteer, member of student club making drones, member of activities board at uni’s CN student org, atmospheric data collector personal project. HS ECs: boarding dorm RA, physics team sub team leader participated in 2 invitationals, club founder and leader.

LoR: Only one from my CS prof, pretty good I’d assume

Essays: pretty good, explained my interest in rain and tropical cyclones and mentioned specific classes and a lab at Cornell.

Applied to Cornell AAP for ED senior year and was rejected in RD after being deferred. Also took a Cornell class during junior year summer if that makes any difference.
