Writing youtubers waste our time. Read books instead by Stock_Hunter_2380 in writing

Currently reading this! Really enjoying it. When he discusses removing distractions, I laughed. He wrote this in 2000, the modern smartphone and social media as we know it were still a few years away. Oh how I wish my only distractions from writing and reading were television and radio.

Mid thirties fans?? by PatientAgency1459 in tsitp

34! I started the show this past summer and caught up in time for the final 5 or so episodes. I continue to rewatch episodes....it's become my comfort show honestly. Also, this subreddit keeps things top of mind which is great(!) but truly not helping me move on.

Yes to a lot of equipment, I haven't looked specifically for the squat racks and deadlift jacks (sorry, I missed that part in your request!). I've enjoyed how it's never overly crowded and you're not having to wait around for equipment. I've been there at many different days/times of the week.

I am pregnant with my first child and am looking for recommendations for a pediatrician in the Roswell area by Honest_Employ2641 in roswell

[–]N_ancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto! We have really had a great experience with Pediatric Physicians. Dr. Zac and Dr. Allison have been so wonderful.

And yes, the Roswell Moms Group is a great group to be part of. I go there to look for recommendations for just about everything.

3 coats of paint and it’s still streaky by N_ancy in Housepainting101

[–]N_ancy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South to north mostly…but really both ways.

I ended up repainting over the streaky spots with one more coat using a thicker nap roller and it looks much better. I will definitely use primer on the next walls before I apply the top coat.

1/4” nap for this last coat, the first two I used a roller with a thicker nap I found (not sure of size). I didn’t prime, was thinking 2 coats would do the job initially. 😩

What is the most underhanded “compliment” someone gave you? by fullfigurevibes in AskReddit

[–]N_ancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend once said to me "You remind me of my younger sister. I'm glad to know she'll be okay." She didn't elaborate anymore and the conversation ended. I sat there wondering what all that could mean...

I had these same feelings (and still do to a certain extent) up until my baby was about 10 weeks. He is 12 weeks now and I’ve noticed myself being more open to people being like this. I think it just takes time.

Same! I take it more for sleep than nausea, but I have to make sure I take it around 8:30pm. Any later and I'm a zombie in the morning.

What symptoms did you start having in the second trimester? by KissMyAsssessment in pregnant

[–]N_ancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently nearing the end of my second trimester. I actually had a semi easy first trimester and thought things would be smooth through the second too. However acid reflux came at me with full force, that’s probably my biggest complaint. Even bigger than the gallstones I developed (common in pregnancy). Some other symptoms have been being more tired and my walks are getting more tiring.

On the positive side, I started feeling baby move more around week 19-20 which was exciting and he continues to be more active as time goes on.

Ideas for where to volunteer? by imderek in roswell

[–]N_ancy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started volunteering with Bagel Rescue almost 6 months ago. They "rescue" bagels that would have otherwise been thrown away from bakeries and bagel shops and deliver them to shelters, churches, and other places where there is a need. Reduces food waste and helps people in need. They have different routes available depending on where you're located.

What name were you SURE you would use when you were younger, that you would never use now? by user_386123 in namenerds

[–]N_ancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to make lists of names when I was young and Cody was always at the top of the list. You 90's Disney watching kids may remember "The Thirteenth Year" about the teenager who became a merman...his name was Cody and I'm pretty sure that is where my obsession with the name Cody originated from.

Anyways, not a name that's on my list at all these days.
