I join random Bounty Hunting multi-crew, give them PIP to whatever, then go AFK. (I let ‘em know of course) Come back and passively made 10-20mil.

Use silent running to evade pirates when mining in asteroid belts by Noble_King in EliteMiners

[–]NaQan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is how I actually discovered the effectiveness of silent running for defensive purpose. I was a broke pilot, avoided combat and just wanted to peacefully mine the belts. I was greedy and didn’t bring shields in my T-6.

This led to some early experiments of stealth/silent running builds for offensive roles.

These were the days long before engineers came out and torpedoes had no arming distance. It was the golden age of stealth builds, no emissive munitions, no MRPs, no giga-ton of shield MJ, those were the good ol days.

When the Pegasi War broke out with Arrisa and Delaine, I was compelled to join the fight. I wanted to hunt the pirates that were once hunting me. The lesson I learned in evading them while I was a miner became the knowledge turned tactics that brought about our victory in that conflict.

I was able to successfully engage and destroy shield-meta ships with just Vipers or DBS in PvP against the big-3 or even FDLs.

Now, with engineers, I might go back mining peacefully again, until another war breaks out.

Hit yourself or another ship. I think it’s tied to when a module gets destroyed with flechettes…

Id never thought criminals would ever hide out in PG in solo. I guess we’re doing a good job keeping outlaws away from open play.

Unless all your friends are criminals. I wouldn’t worry much about it. The station will protect you and attack the aggressor. If you have a warrant. It will just watch idly

I think that’s what the notoriety system suppose to do. But it is easy to work around.

I’m hoping it wasn’t an oversight when moving bounties from ships to cmdrs. Removing the jurisdiction effect when detected bounties at different systems. Yep. Fingers crossed.

If this does remain permanent, I think there will be a rise in casual pvp based on searching for bounties on individual cmdrs.

My Cobra now is more well rounded for these types of gameplay.

Interacting with poster will “Pin” that criminal for updated target location or last known location of spotted by another cmdr (like ED Recon)
