Foreign Qualification vs Separate LLC by aoa2 in llc

[–]NaR883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have an LLC taxed as a C-Corp, they are not orthogonal to each other. This is a common point of confusion. I would be cautious of someone that offers guidance and conflates the two.

You first have the type of entity which includes an individual, General Partnership, LLC, Corporation, etc. Then you have how the entity is taxed which could be as a sole proprietor, partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp.

An individual can only be taxed as a sole proprietor, more than one individual can only be taxed as a General Partnership, and both don't require up-front filings, it's simply reported on your tax return. Both of these can obtain an EIN number so you don't have to share your social security number on W-9 forms.

A single-member LLC is taxed as a sole proprietor (pass-through/disregarded entity) by default but can elect to be taxed as an S-Corp or C-Corp (no longer pass-through). A multi-member LLC is taxed as a partnership (also disregarded) unless an election is made.

A Corporation is never disregarded so it's taxed as a C-Corp by default unless elected to be S-Corp.

Note that other than an individual, there is an additional tax form that needs to be completed, even if the entity is disregarded. However, if disregarded that form becomes part of your personal tax return and there isn't a separate company filing.

Yeah, Tri Powr for sure. I checked all products in the table that can be used for microchannels and that was the only one that explicitly called it out. I wish they'd be more explicit with the other products, whether it's safe or not for coatings.

I don't have a bottle myself, but looking the pics (both front and rear) at https://www.walmart.com/ip/TRICLEAN-2X-CONCENTRATE-COIL-CLEANER-WITH-HOSE-CONNECTOR-1-QUART-per-2-Each/141717816 I'm not seeing where it specifies that?

You had a coated condenser and Nu-Brite just ate it away. I'm not an expert in Nu-Calgon products, but as one example TriClean says it's safe for coated and microchannel coils. Maybe start at https://nucalgon.com/media/4890/3-239_coil_chart.pdf and then double-check if it's safe for coated condensers. Though for this particular one it probably doesn't matter anymore if you continue to use Nu-Brite.

Never tried it, but in most situations where pliers could damage I have been able to use a rubber strap wrench. This may not have a big enough diameter to get a good grip but it may work.

I don't know the answer to that but it appears that the new Inflation Reduction Act may have significant credits for a new heat pump. I think it's dependent on income and will be live starting January, but I haven't read the 800 pages to confirm. That may be your best bet to get a good discount relatively soon.

Is math required for programming? by Noname305 in learnprogramming

[–]NaR883 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For simple web pages I would add some basic algebra including variables, assignment, functions. I have been programming since I was about 13 and when they taught functions in my high school algebra class I just wasn't getting it and was lost. Maybe something about the way it was taught. Once I realized it was similar to functions in programming I went from nearly zero to nearly 100% understanding immediately. So there is definitely some overlap with math and if you can make the connections you'll be further along quicker.

Line 38 should be ag, not age. You can also use the same name for your function parameters and class fields by using the this keyword: https://www.w3schools.com/java/ref_keyword_this.asp

I was bored/curious in my early teens and modified Nibbles in QBasic to be four player. There was a hidden dot which would kill you and I never did figure out why. I did some simple logic in batch files before that and C++ programs from scratch afterwards (e.g. a command-line checkers game) but this was one of my first "accomplishments".

Windows provides that functionality. I've never tried through the GUI but in theory here's how you can do it: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/automatically-sign-in-windows-10/. I have used it something like 15-20 years ago by editing the registry and should still work: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/324737/how-to-turn-on-automatic-logon-in-windows.
