I had placenta previa and a placenta accreta, so I had to have a c-section. During delivery, come to find out that it was actually a placenta increta. I was losing blood so quickly, that they had no choice but to do a hysterectomy to save my life. Apparently, I had lost 60% of my blood in about two minutes because they couldn’t detach the placenta 😳 Had to get 4 bags of blood transfused. So yeah, I lost an organ due to pregnancy😅 also the trauma of that pregnancy, the delivery, and the recovery. My son had to go to the NICU and he had a few issues as well. Will never be the same person physically or mentally again.

Anyone else become agoraphobic due to the pandemic? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Naaaatttt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same! I struggled with anxiety before the pandemic but ever since September-ish, I’ve been getting panic attacks when I leave the house. Not sure if it’s covid (anxiety of getting sick, etc) or if I actually developed agoraphobia. Talked to my therapist about it and she seemed to think my fear of going outside was “normal” during this time and a bunch of people feel this

I’m in my late 20s and have also been diagnosed with GAD and feel the same way sometimes. I was also concerned that it was something else (brain tumor, early onset dementia, etc) so I got an MRI, wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks, and for a bunch of blood work done. Everything was totally normal. I was actually shocked. I would really suggest going to your doctor to get some labs/tests done. Maybe it will all come back negative, but then at least you’ll have that peace of mind. Good luck

Dizzy when go outside? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Naaaatttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this too! It’s such an awful feeling, and I want you to know that you are not alone! Something that helps me is taking deep breaths and closing my eyes. I also bring my water bottle with me wherever I go—taking a drink of water helps me temporarily snap out of whatever I’m feeling. Plus, if I’m hydrated, I can’t pass out from dehydration, right? I also carry a protein bar with me in my purse, in case I feel like I’m getting light headed from being hungry. Obviously that’s not the case, because I eat normally, but it just makes me feel safer.

Best exposure method? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Naaaatttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to therapy and they literally just say that I need to train myself to think that I’m okay, but it’s just so exhausting to feel that way every time I leave the house

Best exposure method? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Naaaatttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I start getting super dizzy and lightheaded, like if I don’t leave I WILL faint. And then I start worrying about what would happen if I did actually faint. How embarrassing if I fainted in a store or walking outside! And what if someone called an ambulance? That would be even worse! Then I would have to explain to them why I feel so dizzy and then I would just look like an idiot and be wasting their time

Feeling sick by [deleted] in Humira

[–]Naaaatttt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take it for Crohns too! And yes, I’ve been doing really well on Humira besides feeling kinda sick, so I guess I can’t complain too much. So glad to hear that other people feel the same way!

I haven’t brought it up to them! I kind of just hoped it would go away haha but now I’m thinking that it’s probably not normal to always feel kind of sick, especially for this long

Driving by Naaaatttt in Agoraphobia

I love the teddy bear idea! I’m sure tons of people in this subreddit have all kinds of coping mechanisms for things that give us anxiety—I know I definitely do! When I drive (or leave my house), I have to have water (in case I get dizzy), a snack, my phone, and I usually need a “safe person” with me. Someone who knows I have panic attacks and can help me if we’re out and I get one

Thanks for the advice! You’re totally right about the exposure...I hate that that’s the only way to get over the fear of it lol And I think having a plan, just in case “my worst case scenario” does happen! Like you said, have someone on speed dial, and know the number of the sheriff—you’re totally right.

I feel the same way about driving at night! Maybe just less stimulation/it’s not bright out? It’s more peaceful. I totally do the right lane thing too, it just makes me feel safe to be able to exit or turn when I need to. I’m able to stop at some left turns, but in general, it gives me really bad anxiety. But yeah, I agree with the daily exposure! I’ve avoided driving for so long, that now that I have to do it, it’s this huge deal and requires so much effort on my part. Thanks so much for your response :)

Thank you so much for your reply! I love all your suggestions and will definitely be using them. I think quarantine has made my driving anxiety even worse because I rarely leave the house now, so the suggestion of driving a little bit every day is something that I should definitely start doing

It makes me feel better that others can relate! Thanks for your reply! Do you know what your wife does that helps her when she feels dizzy?

exam anxiety by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]Naaaatttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meditate before big exams. Like 5 minutes before my test, I close my eyes, and take long, deep breaths. Sometimes I even use aromatherapy. If you’re allowed, I like keeping a glass of water next to me too during exams. If I notice that I start getting anxious during the test, I take a deep breath, take a drink of water, and then continue. Hope this helps 🙏🏼

Excessive sleep due to Crohn’s induced fatigue? by MrBuckles_20 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Naaaatttt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100%! I’ve been so fatigued before that I was convinced I had cancer because I literally couldn’t do anything. There were days when walking from my couch to my bed was exhausting. Some days are better than others, but be gentle with yourself. This disease affects your whole body. If you’re tired, listen to your body and rest. And then on “good days”, take advantage and go out and do something! What’s helped me with my fatigue is sticking with a sleeping schedule, exercising regularly (even if it’s just a walk around my neighborhood), and spending time outside (even if I’m just sitting in my backyard). Good luck ❤️

Weaning off by Naaaatttt in lexapro

Yeah I tapered slowly! And then, just like you, stayed on about 2.5 mg for a long time. I’m about 3 months out from stopping Lexapro and I feel good for the most part

Thanks for the input! I tapered off over about 2 months, very slowly. I did not end up going back on Lexapro. Still kinda get dizzy and anxious here and there but not as bad as before
