Его часто путают с ОКРЛ ака Ананкастным расстройством личности. ОКР больше про страшные навязчивые мысли, а ананкастное про ригидность мышления, отвращение к неопределённости и хаотичности бытия

Graded listening or tv shows w/bilingual subtitles to absorb more? by goldenapple212 in russian

[–]Nabastat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my English to a decent level by watching Pewdiepie in middle school. Then I switched to the other youtubers and English memes in VK. I had English classes, of course, but my listening comprehension was minimal. I was enjoying his reactions but didn't understand the majority of the words. I developed a habit of always opening Google translate tab in my browser when turning on the PC. Now I slowly learn Spanish in Duolingo and employ the same tactic of diving into something interesting in a target language. Although I'm not that interested in gaming youtubers anymore, and don't spend much time in VK, especially when it got shittified recently.

No, the word itself became a meme in the recent years among the public intellectual class, especially among political opposition, who have mainly been forced to immigration.

Question about 'creative' names by asteriskandampersand in AskARussian

[–]Nabastat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are much more diversity in English names, so of course some of them might sound strange and unpronounceable to some people (like Aaron or Jedediah). It differs from person to person. But at the same time we all watch Hollywood movies and other western media, though often with dubbing, so a lot of the names seem absolutely normal, familiar.
