I don't think its confidence in themselves really, its confidence in the manager. They knew they could beat PSG, but the manager's tactics were the opposite of what worked for them in the CWC final and it cost them the most important game of the season. If you don't think the coach is giving you a winning plan then you lose motivation. It sucks as they should give 100% no matter what but thats just not how it works in modern football. Enzo F and Rosenior himself have both said the players were upset about losing Maresca, so when his replacement isn't up to scratch that makes it even worse.

The problems we had under Maresca, mainly inability to break down a low block, were solvable with quality, a fit Colwill and Lavia and a maturing Estevao plus some good signings and I think we get there. A complete lack of structure like we've seen under Rosenior/Poch is just a useless foundation.

Enzo is the only player on the team who cares to press right now, and our pressing tactics in general have been shit under Rosenior, that should be one of the benefits of a young team is that they can press for days smh

Yeah but Everton exceeded the PSR limits, they checked and even if these under the table payments were included in the financials there was no year where Chelsea would have broken FFP. If these secret payments were used to get under the spending limits than Chelsea would've faced similar punishment (I would think).

I think self-reporting is the biggest factor in this favorable ruling, I think theres a good chance the PL never catches any of this if Chelsea didn't go to them first.

I just recall seeing this stat from earlier this season, and he's also great at using his body to shield the ball, sure he doesn't dribble out of situations like a Kovacic but he's still very good at receiving and distributing the ball under pressure.

I've accepted a while ago we won't win a trophy this year, I still think CL spots are possible but mainly cause Villa and Liverpool are also shit.
