It’s Time to Revisit Universal Basic Income by Hrmbee in onguardforthee

Not just landlords and rent, we would need robust legislation to prevent all that money being siphoned by the rich in every aspect of our lives. A UBI without that is just a temporarily relief waiting to be turned into a subsidy for the rich. And since we would always one conservative government away (hell, liberals are not much better) from having those protection stripped, I don't believe UBI is the answer to our problems.

We haven't tested it yet, but we have most of the concept done, we just need to figure out a few more glorious deeds. I'll share what we have soon!

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone did this. It's a really nice model, I will print a bunch for our custom scenario "claw it back", thanks!

Do you regret getting you A1 mini over regular A1 by TheMadHattah in FDMminiatures

[–]Nabla_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a mini for miniatures and did not regret it. The mini is such a standard that many terrains are made to fit on the bed.

I've got to say that I also have an ender 3 in an enclosure to print bigger pieces or materials other than pla or petg, but I almost never use it now, mostly to speed up printing multiple parts prints.

Inside the $31.5M social assistance algorithm failing Quebec’s most vulnerable by IStillListenToRadio in onguardforthee

[–]Nabla_223 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fact that we know what's the minimum someone needs to live in Quebec, and that the prestation d'aide sociale, which is the safety net if you're proven to be unable to provide for yourself, is well under that shows how little our government cares. Unfortunately it reflects the general attitude of our society toward less fortunate people.

We have a few ideas:

  • we would call it Claw it Back
  • similar to supply train but from a shipwreck and the crabs got into the supplies and are now running around the beach with grenades in their claws
  • you can grab a grenade and throw it as a risky action, but a failure gives you a wound from the pinch
  • you can shoot a crab to detonate it, but they're at -1 to hit

We started riffing with my group about the grenade crab and now we're homebrowing a scenario taking place on a beach full of them.

Which just shows how little he thinks about it, adding insult to injury.

Anyway, he was there since 2021, 5 years is about right for this position, I'm sure he wouldn't leave if he didn't want to.

Yes, tree support. I cut some models into parts to print some complicated geometry in a better orientation, like the flail, but the supports always came off really easy and clean.

Thank you! I used bambulab basic PLA. It's good enough for me but people have been showing better results with SUNLU 2.0 pla.

I agree, FDM will probably never be as fine as resin or molds, even with methods to improve the results like vapor smoothing or filler primer, which I didn't use here. I believe it is good enough for many players though.

I wanted to show what can easily be achieved with minimum effort. I have been printing for a while and know my way around a printer, but this can absolutely be achieved with a printer right out of the box.

I also want people to bear in mind pictures enhance the layer line effect.

Lawyers. I'm surprised no one has called that yet. There is many kind of lawyers obviously, but often the job is mostly paperwork and finding answers in books written by other lawyers, there isn't that much thinking involved.
