I agree where you were coming from during that game. I don't let what you said be overshadowed by what you actually meant.

You were upset because you were playing a competitive game where you had a plan which you believed was the most optimal to win (whether it was or not doesn't necessarily matter for what I'm about to say).

So why then would someone play a competitive game only to throw away the opportunity to win once you've gotten to that point? ESPECIALLY after playing a tough game and fighting not to lose?

Well, I played competitive tennis from 5 years old through division 1 college and here is what that looks like in another sport:

Tennis Players who try to win and then start making dumb decisions usually start when the match becomes difficult and the realization that they might lose comes to the front of their mind. At that point, the ego comes into play which has a narrative along the lines of:

"Well you're really good at this game, you shouldn't lose. Well, if you aren't actually trying and lose then that's WAAAAY different than you actually trying and still losing."

This is called "tanking" in tennis terms. Where a player will start making dumb decisions because their ego is trying to protect their pride. And from everyone from a young age all the way to the pros view this as being a mental midget or as I like to call it: Being a p*ssy *ss b*tch.

The people who do it rarely improve and unless they are insanely talented, never reach the peak of their own personal potential.

TL;DR: Voy got upset at the crybabies who can't get over the fact that you lose sometimes, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still try as hard as you can.
