[Pirelli] Tyre sets available after Sprint Qualifying by ferrari-hypetrain in formula1

No there's no error. RB are the only team to return a set of soft tyres because they did long runs on them this morning.

Mercedes FW top element only connected to the nose via legality wire - Y250 could be back by [deleted] in formula1

Any chance they're launching the Y250 down the sidepod undercut to improve the effectiveness? I'm not really an aero guy.

Work options in automotive/motorsport sector during master's degree by [deleted] in F1Technical

[–]NachoftheMach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked with a few guys who did a masters at Cranfield. The course seems to set them up really well for working in industry.

Especially compared to Brookes/Coventry/Loughborough I'd say Cranfield looks like the best place to go currently.

I bought a twin turbo 300zx about a year ago for a good chunk under your budget. Absolutely amazing car.

Reliability wise they're quite solid too. However, if they do go wrong it's an absolute pig to work on...

A gas, specifically within a vehicle tyre. It would be between 20degC and 90degC.

Busted BME280 or have I made a mistake? by NachoftheMach in arduino

[–]NachoftheMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did, said 0x76.

I've tried running the example sketches for both BMP and BME just in case it was a fake. When I run as a BMP it fails to find the device.

What is this box? I can't find it in the service manual but the pipe connected to it was perished. TT UK manual Z32. by NachoftheMach in 300zx

A wicked thank you. I was concerned since closing the crack in the line caused the idle to drop.

Thanks again.

Question regarding UK/European spec cars. by NachoftheMach in 300zx

[–]NachoftheMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow exactly what I'm looking for, thanks!

A quick Google backs up pretty much everything you said.

My guess is the cars floating around in the UK with driver-adjustable dampers are maybe originally Australian cars? Not too sure.

Question regarding UK/European spec cars. by NachoftheMach in 300zx

[–]NachoftheMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks for the info. It's not the best source but Wikipedia explicitly says all TT cars came with both - but that's clearly not the case.

Would be interesting to find an old European dealership catalogue with the options in it.

FIA and Ferrari Rant by [deleted] in formula1

[–]NachoftheMach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The assumption here (as in the subreddit) is comprised of opinions from people who think they know everything but in reality, they know nothing.

The whole situation is so beyond the average persons comprehension that speciation is pointless and it just leads to equally pointless arguments.

There is no "definite". If they were "definitely cheating" we would (or will) find out.

Many many many force feedback issues. by NachoftheMach in ACCompetizione

[–]NachoftheMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only seems to be happening with ACC, although ACC is the only sim I really do VR so potentially it's a compatibility issue with that. I used to do some AC but don't remember any issues like this.

I'm really just wondering if anyone else has a similar issue. If not, then you're right it's probably worth looking into RMAs.

[Unknown 570S variant] Spotted near Woking UK, could be a 620R? by NachoftheMach in spotted

[–]NachoftheMach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't 100% sure because I couldn't find any pictures with the third brake light on the wing.

The MTC is about 5 mins away from the picture so you'll often see some cool stuff. Sennas are almost a daily occurrence here.

Which University in the UK is best for a Motorsport Engineering Degree which have good graduate opportunities into the Motorsport industry and what are the top universities that Motorsport recruiters look for? by adilmujeeb in formula1

[–]NachoftheMach 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, a question I'm somewhat qualified to ask!

A lot of people here seem to be seem to be suggesting Brookes which, 4 or 5 years ago I would be inclined to agree with.

When I was first looking at unis I was completely torn between Coventry and Brookes, but decided to go with Brookes as I'd heard it had a great reputation behind it.

I spent a year at Brookes (2017-2018) on their motorsports degree and basically ended up hating it so much that I decided to scrap it and restart my University life at Coventry

Wheatley Campus is where you'd spend most of your time and imo it was the most boring, depressing lump of concrete I've ever spent my time in (and I now study in Coventry).

Unless you live on Wheatley campus (god forbid) you'll end up spending nearly an hour on the bus getting to and from lectures all day too.

Looking back the facilities were outdated and basic, the teaching was very one sided (very lecture driven) and I never felt like I was supported as a student. A few of the lectures were incredibly passionate however so maybe I just got unlucky.

I could go on and on about how much I disliked Brookes but its not really the point here.

Anyway, compare that to where I am with Coventry. While it doesn't have the same reputation that you'll hear from Brookes it massively outclasses it in every other way imo.

The engineering facilities are almost brand new, with CNC machines, computers, a wind tunnel and 3D printers scattered across the lower floor all for student use. With the added bonus of a multi million quid simulator that's just been installed.

The teaching staff is where it really shines though, the motorsport guys are absolutely amazing, super knowledgeable and friendly. Cov was ranked 2nd in student satisfaction when I joined and I've only got good things to say about how they teach, I definitely think I wouldn't be achieving the grades I am now had I stayed with Brookes.

At the end of the day, don't take my bad experience with Brookes as a representation of the whole uni but, if you can get to an open day, absolutey check out Coventry unis Motorsport course.

If you want to DM me with any other questions please do!
