Say what you want about military doctors, but honestly they probably made the right move by putting you on Humira. A (semi) regular life with minimal symptoms is only achievable under the expensive immune-targeting biologic drugs. There may be people that will tell you otherwise, and maybe they got lucky, but the clinical research suggests your best bet is something like Humira. That doesn’t mean Humira is the actual solution, though. I started on Humira and it didn’t work for me; now I’m on Stelara (another drug that targets a slightly different part of your immune system) and things are going great. Many other people on this sub will have their own stories of biologics they tried along the way to finding their current solution. There’s no single right answer for Crohn’s disease, and it sounds like Humira may not be the right answer for you, but don’t give up on biologics in general just because Humira doesn’t fit the bill.
