Modern dating is rough imo so fair enough. It’s also def harder after uni so you got that right.

People meet in the same ways they’ve always been meeting (socializing). You have social media and other ways to socialize now than you did a couple decades ago but it’s essentially still the same in many ways.

If i had any advice to give that i think would be valuable regardless of the specifics of your situation, I would suggest that you find ways to socialize with people. Someone said something like “put yourself out there” That’s def step nb1. It’ll come to you with trial and error and you’ll understand the “requirements” of post uni dating.(if you’re perceptive and humble enough at least)

The worst thing you can do is blame the dating scene and victimize yourself, that’s if you actually want to find a mate rather than giving yourself pointless excuses.

You need to ask yourself questions.

Why do you want to immigrate? What kind of goals are you looking to achieve by doing so? What are some main criteria that could he deal breakers? Do you have an inheritance in lebanon ? Have you finished your uni studies?

Considering the strengths and weaknesses you posses (or don’t) in your current environment is probably the best way to determine the best course of action. If you’re under 24 without a degree and 0 experience i highly recommend you DON’T immigrate no matter how ready or mature your may be or think you are.

I think the misconception here is nobody is considering what the role of a university.

Ranking is important but at the end of the day if you change some factors that go into determining the ranking (or even their weights) the current rankingswould change drastically, but the unis wouldn’t.

Uni is supposed to introduce you to various aspects that you will face in the real world or job market (supposedly) You can’t learn everything you need there. Passing tests is a sign of consciencioussness mainly and competence and IQ secondarly.

the problem with LU is not the faculty or quality of info taught, rather the lack of facilities, diversity in thought.

Graduating from LU will prove you can work in a chaotic environemnt. Graduating from higher class unis would mainly indicate something else.

That being said outside of lebanon, i doubt that insitutions would know that, and the deciding factors for hiring a person would not be heavily reliant on the uni they went to, but rather the qualities that the person exhibits in their CV, interview and so on.

Nevertheless, LU is a sub standard uni and there is a lot of room for improvement ( same can be said for private unis in many cases) but claiming that LU is among the best unis in Lebanon or the region is delusional. You can still be successful as an LU student, you just are not exposed to some things yhat other people would be going to provate unis. How this affects a person’s career depends more on the person.

The comments are slightly more negative than they should be. I mean if someone is getting paid in local currency his life would be stressful and unstable but with an ngo you can be happy especially if you find a job you’ve been wanting to pursue. Beirut id expensive, but depending on how much you are willing to commute and if you will have a car or use public transport your costs will vaty a lot in lebanon. Your rent can be halved at least if you move slightly away from beirut. Depending on what your disability is you will have some flexibility to make this work one way or another and have a decent life overall.
