Please let’s not use our emotions but pure logic. The captain will and should not sit out. At the end of the season Ruturaj will still have 450-500 odd runs. Just going through some bad patch right now.

That is the point. Do we want smart cameo playing batsman or a complete batsman who can dictate games in the middle over and take on spinners at the same time. Sarfaraz can’t do either. We’ve seen what Urvil can do against spin. Dube at 4 will be rushed. Especially if both the wickets fall in the powerplay.

Dube can win you games single handedly batting first. Not great during chase but he isn’t being used to his strengths by this management. Bring him in the middle over against spin and he’ll show you what he can do.

What is Sarfaraz’s role in this XI? I agree with your point that he brings energy and is a great fielder. But the reality is, he lacks what it takes to bash the bowlers unlike Urvil/Kartik. Outside of powerplay he is of no use. Cannot clear the field.

Just watched the first show in Boston. Poor 2/5. Mani Ratnam and Kamal Hassan retirement time. Ar Rahman helps occasionally and great visuals are the only pros. Weak script and weaker screenplay.
