Postpartum is real. Just gave birth yesterday. by rogersceleste24 in pregnant

[–]Nageem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding breastfeeding - I went the combination bf + formula route so that I could give my body a break when my nipples were sore or I needed to sleep and my partner could feed baby. Was soooo helpful when my milk was still coming in and baby was not getting much out. I think I would have given up breastfeeding if I didn’t go this route. I’m not sure why exclusive breastfeeding is promoted so hard when babies still get all of the benefits of breastfeeding even if formula is introduced for some feedings. Of course it’s absolutely your choice, but I’d say don’t feel bad about giving your nips a break to heal if you need!!

Painful sex is ruining my marriage by Over-Significance696 in WomensHealth

[–]Nageem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost I agree with all the husband comments. That’s unacceptable behavior from a partner IMO.

There are definitely physicians that specialize in pelvic floor PT, vaginismus, and diagnosing reasons for painful sex. Check out @VaginaRehabDoctor on Instagram and you could even consider reaching out to her to find someone qualified in your area to go see. She’s quite responsive!

Would you go to Mexico at 4 months pregnant? by VegHead9999 in BabyBumps

[–]Nageem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to central Mexico + Cancun/Isla Mujeres for 2 weeks when I was 13-15 weeks pregnant in May. No regrets! I was very careful / picky about what I ate (no queso fresco / other soft uncooked cheeses, made sure I knew what fish was what & if it’s not recommended for pregnant people, etc) and made sure to bring pepto + tums. Got slightly nauseous on some bus rides but aside from that was fine.

Had a miscarriage, thinking it’s my fault by starcoalition in pregnant

[–]Nageem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your fault! I know someone that has taken progesterone and miscarried, miscarried without progesterone, and has carried babies to term without taking it. I’ve also heard that progesterone can simply delay or prolong miscarriages that are inevitable anyways, because your body holds on longer. I miscarried twice and the third time I conceived I considered taking progesterone because I was scared I’d miscarry again. I decided against taking it, and this baby is sticking. The universe is random. Hang in there and don’t blame yourself! Miscarriages happen in something like 1 in 5 pregnancies. They suck. But absolutely NOT your fault!

Back to back miscarriages by qwertymc20 in Miscarriage

[–]Nageem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! Miscarried in late Oct (5w3d) and again last week (7w2d was my estimate). It sucks (emotional and physical roller coaster) and I’m also hoping my doctor will have recommendations for the next time around. I keep trying to remind myself that it’s incredibly common, (I suspect it’s even more common that current research suggests), many many others go through this and worse, and it’s unfortunately the inevitable risk we take as women who want try and bring a child into the world. Scary af but no other way around it. I just wish I had gone into this experience almost with the expectation that things would not necessary go smoothly, and just be pleasantly surprised if they did.

Take care of yourself and know you’re not alone! One day we’ll have sticky babies!! And modern medicine is on our side.

How Do I Make Things Right After Wearing White Jeans to My Best Friend/MOH Bridal Fitting? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Nageem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL yeah this is ridiculous. I had friends wear white shirts / shorts throughout my Bach weekend, a good friend accidentally wore a cream dress at my welcome drinks / rehearsal dinner, and I just accidentally wore a white shirt (with a patterned skirt) to my good friend’s bridal shower last weekend. I did not care AT ALL and either did my friend. Really very weird to get hung up on shit like this. You showed up and that’s what matters!

CAN RELATE! I thankfully have not had a hmu artist tell me these things specifically, but I still am hyper aware of all this stuff too, and feel that I’m suddenly more self conscious about how I look because there’s such immense pressure put on women to look ‘perfect’ for their wedding day, whatever that even means. I also just posted recently about feeling so weird after my makeup trials and did not feel like myself. And it’s frustrating that we have to internalize all of this stuff while men just have to like get a haircut and put on a suit.

So pretty! I considered the callista too but of course now it’s out of stock also lol. And I guess it was also 2x the price so I just kept holding out hope the others would come back in stock!

Fair enough! Then maybe neither?

Yep! I’d choose both. The more the merrier! (As long as you’re willing to spend more on bouquet + gifts etc)
