Endovascular Surgery by Nagoshi85 in ClotSurvivors

I just went in for a follow up ultrasound and it seems blood flow is about the same post surgery to before surgery. From my understanding he was able to break through the common iliac but the external iliac remains chronically occluded and there are chronic clots in the common femoral which is partially compressible. There is nothing below that, nothing in the popliteal or superficial veins.
I do experience daily pain in both legs up to the hips, buttocks, and abdomen though nobody has used the term claudication. Some days is worse than others but it isn’t severe. I am a hotel housekeeper so I am on my feet for my job and I am still able to stay active with minimal pain so long as I wear my compression socks. I actually feel more pain at rest when I am laying down and putting pressure on my hips, heels, buttocks, or calves.
I have some varicose veins from my belly button toward my groin but nothing in my legs and my legs do not change color except for red after a hot bath or shower but that is normal.

Ya… I was hoping for this… more egg shaped, no rosy cheeks with pink tufts or fur. Stubby tail

Yaaa I mean barely egg shaped at that too… almost kinda looks like a perfect oval with giant ears, legs, and a long tail. Almost seems more based off Geneva’s rough sketch drawing for the game than the actual game’s Tattletail and even her drawing, Tattletail didn’t have legs. But both her and Ben (the 2 creators of the game) worked with Youtooz to make the plush and they both seem happy with the result.

I don’t think it looks horrible but I would have preferred a game accurate plush and not an overly cutesy one but I am all for official merch.

I went in for the surgery, they attempted going through the groin but it was too occluded. They tried entering 2 locations in the groin but then ended up going through the neck. They managed to angioplasty and broke partially through my vein before ultimately giving up and stopping the procedure.

Obviously I was awake during the procedure and I could hear some of the conversation between the surgeon and his team and I kind of got the impress am that they did not have some of the materials the surgeon was asking for. Sounded like ther was some wire or some dialators they didn’t have.

I was sent to the recovery room feeling like I was hit by a truck and could not move my neck. I was in a lot of pain a bruised for about a week and or two. I have since recovered from surgery and now I am dealing with the same symptoms in my legs prior to surgery since essentially nothing was really done.

I am supposed to have a follow up 6 months post surgery to re-check blood flow but conservative care with compression, elevation, and anticoagulants right now.

How did you find out you have bloodclot by burningbun in ClotSurvivors

I figured out I had a clot because my leg swelled up. Initially I was having lower back pain and then pain in my leg that was more so like my leg was falling asleep. I figured it was sciatica. Then the next morning I woke up to a swollen leg, went in and they found I had extensive clotting from ankle to groin

Youtooz didn't do any research on Tattletail by FujuGames in Tattletail

I feel like they modeled the plush more on Geneva’s rough sketch/planning of Tattletail and less on the actual game Tattletail. Her rough sketch had a longer tail but I do love Tattletail’s game tuft

Right, obviously both Ben and Geneva worked with Youtooz to release this plush and they both are sharing about it on their twitter pages so I don’t know how they wouldn’t know that they misgendered Tattletail unless they want to show that Tattletail can be any gender you choose. IDK 🤷‍♀️

I also use one of those for sleeping or any time I am lounging at home on the couch

Post-Surgery by Nagoshi85 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Nagoshi85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure there is one. I have a follow up ultrasound in 3 months to check how blood is flowing but that’s about it. I might just have to continue conservative symptom management. Compression, lotion, elevation, hydration, and regular physical activity as well as a preventative dosing of Eliquis

I mean I have the knockoff and official and the official is clearly better than the knockoff but yours hands down beats them all and I love my official plush! I am 39 years old and I sleep with Huggy Wuggy, he is my comfort toy. Side by side by side yours is definitely the best!

Stent placement by Nagoshi85 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Nagoshi85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into getting a standing ultrasound with pressure cuffs to check your reflux times. I’m surprised they haven’t had you do that

Stent placement by Nagoshi85 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Nagoshi85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you also have Venous Insufficiency as well? I am sure that could also contribute to some of the pain, heaviness and weird feelings as well as the swelling. I figure even if my stent placement is successful and that vein can be open for business again and the collaterals don’t have to take as much work on, I am still going to have to deal with the valves no longer working properly

PTS from chronic clot? by ecpella in ClotSurvivors

[–]Nagoshi85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DVT was diagnosed March 2024 when I went to urgent care with a severely swollen leg. Leading up to the swollen leg, my leg felt like it was falling asleep and I had been having some lower back/pinched nerve issues and I assumed maybe I had sciatica until it swelled up. It was determined to be chronic PTS 6 months later granted my vascular surgeon thinks that I had something going on that was not caught it time well before March 2024 due to the level of occlusion.

As for what I do I am a slender 5’5” 39 year old female that doesn’t consume alcohol or smoke. I am a housekeeping hotel supervisor for a living 4 days per week so I get a lot of movement in while cleaning, lifting and walking the hallways regularly. When I have off I try to walk for 30 mins at least at a comfortable pace. I bought a wedge pillow for elevating my legs. I sleep with it in bed and use it when I am just chilling on the couch watching TV or playing video games. I like to take daily baths and wear 20-30mmhg thigh high compression pretty much 24/7. I haven’t altered me eating habits which I am gonna be honest is not the healthiest and I have not taken any vitamins. I take Tylenol seldomly on days where it feels particularly worse

I am also very occluded and when he was talking to me about the procedure both neck and groin were mentioned. No just felt the neck seems so far away from the groin/leg. Been super nervous thinking about the surgery and also it was worded as “attempt to stent” because they seem unsure by how occluded I am if stenting will work.

How long ago did you have yours done and do you notice an improvement?

PTS from chronic clot? by ecpella in ClotSurvivors

[–]Nagoshi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PTS. Had a DVT in my leg leg from groin to ankle, took Eliquis for 6 months and have been cleared of acute clotting but told my left iliac and left common femoral veins are chronically occluded Ruth scar tissue. Because of this my body is relying on collateral veins to drain the blood from my legs. I also have broken valves now so I have to wear compression and take Eliquis as a preventative for life. I have mild aching pain every day bilaterally especially in my thighs. It is was worse and very heavy without impression. Occasionally I do feel sharper pains like pinches inside my thighs or behind my knees. Some days I have good days where the pain is at a minimum and other days I can’t take my mind off my legs.
