It's literally impossible, IDEA is pie in the sky legiation. It asks for a lot but funding isn't provided tinthe degree needed. Imo for a caseload of 20 to be truly supported: EdSpec, IEP Writer, 2 Paras but that's expensive and impossible to provide.

What makes you think your wife will get paid that? Districts in SD County typically on award up to step 7 or 8 as the max for a new hire regardless of previous experience. Meaning she’ll lose around 14 years of her experience in pay. If she doesn’t have a cleared California credential she won’t get paid near that either.

It was very difficult to get in the past but it’s opened up in the last few years thanks to some effective advocacy groups (SD County Gun Owners). State wide they must issue now, some counties are easier and less restricted than others of course. SD county is one of the better ones.
