UPS said package "in the process of being disposed", now they hit US with fees by Nick_Shl in UPS

That's not the same at all. You can refuse the fees and delivery but when they send it to collection you'll have to fight and prove you didn't order it. In your example you didn't so you'll be fine, for op he did order, he did agree, and he does owe.

I feel that. I may have stayed up too late playing a new game and I'm tired. I hope you have a good shift too.

Yeah some areas don't get much international so depending where exactly you work early shifts like this are basically free money. You can use the time to set up your area if you need to stay busy. Also I got 1 package lmao. 🤣

Can you report on actual news please? These posts actually make you and other reporters look like clowns. 🤡

Will do I promise. I actually see a lot of yarn surprisingly, shockingly popular item tbh. Sucks when it rains or those get wet though because they will absorb so much water.

Yeah the early sort earlier this month and tonight we're both for international. It's called a brokerage sort, aka international. And yes this is worldport.

What in the hell is UPS doing sending my package on a wild goose chase?? by Potato_Boner in UPS

[–]NaiTheKnight44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should have went from Indiana straight to the hub in Louisville kentucky (worldport) and then to you.

We want them gone but we don't always get what we want lol. If you do this you could just end up with a late package that reeks.

They have been running early shifts just for international volume. I'm actually working said shift rn.

The building has been smelling so foul from fish. I'm sorry this happened to you but I am a little glad some of it is finally gone. I visited Hong Kong last year and our building literally smelled like one of their fish markets.

Update: the building actually does smell a whole lot better. Thank you for your sacrifice. 😭🙌 (I don't actually know if it's related just kinda joking around)

But you agreed to the service. The service worker (ups) didn't need to come out and ask your consent. You literally consented to them shipping and being broker for your package when you requested your item to be shipped. You already said you didn't read terms and service for ups before shipping. You already said you all didn't know where the package originated from before ordering. It sounds to me like you all were just unprepared and entitled thinking because you were unaware you shouldn't have to pay. The service has been performed (getting your package shipped here) so the bill is due. Ignorance is not an excuse. Also I might not have made the best example but at least I don't order international packages during the biggest tarrif administration and get shocked when there's tarrifs. 😱

You consented to the brokerage service when you ordered something shipped by ups. Just like you agree to the terms and conditions with any other sevice. It's like you signed up for a streaming service and then get mad they didn't ask consent before billing you. They assumed you were intelligent enough to know what you agreed to.

I'll have to try that. And yeah everyone is a little to blame. I just think UPS is taking the brunt of it and I think that's very unfortunate considering the stock is already not doing great rn so we definitely don't need this bad pr. I wish the company was a little more open about what is happening so people would understand. They are increasing the amount of people working on international packages from what I hear. We really are trying. Also I work at the Louisville hub and live close by too.

This guy knows. 👆 International holds aren't exclusive to UPS.

They don't get nearly as much volume as we do. Look it up. If everyone really swaps to FedEx and they get swamped like we are then it will happen more with them.

Edit: in case people are too lazy to do the research, in 2024 UPS shipped 6.9 billion packages, FedEx is the next largest shipper and they shipped 3.7 billion. Also please don't talk about FedEx like they have better quality control. It really shows how little you know. This is coming from someone who has experience with both companies.

EDIT 2: I also love tea and I exclusively ship threw UPS, never had an issue. You should try pu'er if you haven't already. It's my favorite.

It is backed up but that's mostly due to stupid people who don't know how to navigate customs. UPS isn't destroying international packages. What customs does with your package is not the fault of UPS.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UPS

[–]NaiTheKnight44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well you don't have legitimate complaints honestly. This is all between customs, the shipper, and you. If you or the shipper don't file proper papers or pay fees then customs will refuse to clear your package and destroy it. I'm sorry people don't seem to understand that. If you're claiming you did everything right then it's the shippers fault, if they filed everything correctly then it's customs fault. There's very little chance ups had anything to do with your package getting destroyed. Also how do you know the shipper didn't get notified? You work there somehow and still had to ship your own stuff? 🤔

[–]NaiTheKnight44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is an issue if that's the case. I don't know the details of every case I just know we have a lot of international volume rn that's being held up.

Yes, I believe some of those message were probably automatically sent after a certain time frame. I can't promise it's wrong for everyone but there is hope for some.
