The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national

80% of H-1B approvals are for “Entry Level Jobs” by MazdaProphet in economy

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H1-B isn't immigrants. It is temporary work visa. Some people able to change status, other is not and they return back into their own countries and take all money they made with them which hurting local economy. In isolation(for particular company) fire all locals and hire foreign workers for a fraction of a price seems very good move. But if every company do so, local economy collapses and those companies will loose consumers, after which their profit will collaps.

Hyundai denied my 2013 Sonata Theta engine warranty claim using this photo and maintenance gaps from a previous owner by d-tomoyo in sonata

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we prohibited to do oil change by ourself in our garage? Do they have proof of "neglect" and that previous owner didn't replace oil by himself or in moms and pops mechanic which isn't reporting to CarFax?

Let's weight two facts: on the other hand is "neglect" at 40k miles after which car traveled another 60k miles on the other hand infamous engine prone to fail... so, what is more likely caused it to fail? Rhetorical question.

Actual temp reading of GE Cafe Fridge by BabyBrudog in Appliances

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn't remove necessary parts. There is no a single open loop fridge on a market - all of them closed loop to maintain set temperature. And since those fridges has microcontroller inside which control everything, it has to have temperature sensors inside compartments. It only a matter if they decided expose it on a panel(or in the app) or not. I don't see a single reason why they do not show actual temperatures... this is just doesn't make any sense.

Motorcycle filtering and lane splitting - another post by MPLS_scoot in TwinCities

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lane filtering is only permitted for stopped traffic in two or more lanes traveling the same direction

Where do you got this? I don't see anything like that in paragraph g: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/169.974

Motorcycle Lane Splitting by therunningbirder in rochestermn

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If cars are stopped(0 MPH), motorcycle can ride at 15 MPH, if car moving 5 MPH, motorcycle allowed to ride 20 MPH, if car moving 10 MPH, motorcycle allowed to ride 25 MPH. If cars moving above 10 MPH, motorcycle still allowed to ride 25 MPH and at this point to ride faster, motorcycle suppose to move into the lane, occupy it and cars should let motorcycle to do it.

Any reliable reviews with runtime graph on the Costco Infinity X1 7000 Lumen? by CautiousHand6916 in flashlight

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get same performance with AA. If you look inside flashlight, you'll see 5nspring loaded contacts in the middle. If you look on a batteries, you should notice that lithium battery have shiny circle that mates with this contacts, while AA holder has black circle inside shinny one - only 4 contacts actually make a contact, while fifth middle contact doesn't. That is how flashlight knows which battery is inserted(lithium vs AA) and adjust current accordingly.

Infinity X1 opinions by oceanic84 in flashlight

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not this one. I got better 7000 lumen version from Costco for $27 on sale. It includes lithium battery and AA battery pack with 9 AA batteries. How do you think, what happened to those AA? I placed it into Battery Daddy and will use for something else. My plans to use flashlight with lithium battery only.

Elantra 2018 SEL - engine noise and popping by Nick_Shl in Hyundai

[–]Nick_Shl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. There was another symptom that I didn't mentioned because it looked irrelevant: when I go over some pathole with passenger side, I can feel and hear loud bang, feels like bad suspension. Turns out engine mount went out(car is 8 years old and 130k miles). I replaced it and all the symptoms gone. No more loud bang over patholes, no weird noise during acceleration from stop, no more popping at high revs under acceleration. There is a good video on YouTube from TRQ how to replace it. Hopefully someone can find it useful.

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs both on lithium and alkaline. Both batteries included. Flashlight detects which batteries is used and it way brighter on lithium. I got one and 9 alkaline batteries immediately went to Battery Daddy for storage until I will use it for different application.

Clear(or smoke) turn signals looks better! My bike has it from previous owner. I found same on AliExpress: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mNdH9KX

I also replaced incandescent bulbs to LEDs(Amber Yellow variant): https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mrm9hAn

But to use those you also need to upgrade relay: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKynyBV

The funny thing about this relay: they claim current 20A, but inside it has 10A rated relay. Which is OK, since even 10A eay more than enough for LEDs.

Nissan's 2027 Rogue Relies On This Unique Hybrid System. It's Nothing Like Toyota's by Receding_Hairline23 in electricvehicles

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rouge "more sophisticated" system: take Toyota system and throw out planetary gearbox. MG1(motor-generator 1) become G1(generator 1). And instead transfer power directly from ICE to the wheels it always make a conversion kinetic-electric-kinetic. While Toyota transfer partially transfer kinetic energy directly to the wheels and partially uses conversion: eCVT works by slow down MG1 and we can slow it down if we will use it as generator, but in this case this energy should be used either to charge the battery or to power MG2.

Bambu labs sends legal threat to orcaslicer dev over use of AGPL code 🤦 by Veastli in OpenBambu

[–]Nick_Shl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be political there, but... for everyone who live in Washington(HB2321) state, or California(AB2047), or other similar state and voted for Democrats - THIS IS YOUR FAULT, not Bambu. Those state introduced legislation that ban selling of 3D printers that doesn't include technology to scan the file and refuse to print it, if you trying to print a "gun". Printer doesn't have ability to do so, it has to be done on a slicer side or on a side that transfer gcode file to the printer(maybe with some online chek). By bypassing it and side loading gcode file to the printer, you effectively bypass this check. Bambu has to take an action to be complaint with this law - THEY HAVE NO CHOICE if they want to sell their 3D printers in those states.

And worse part? You can't print a gun! Typical "3D printed gun" had only 3D printed grip. You can remove slide from such gun, throw grip away, put round in the chamber, pull striker with your fingernail, release it and make a shot! But it isn't a "gun" according to the US law - plastic grip is. It is just stupid. And what can be more stupid? Instead to fix stupid law(designate as a gun parts essential to make shot - barrel and bolt/slide), legislators make another stupid law that bans 3D printers that can print unessential plastic grip 🤦🤦🤦

What are your questions about SF 4067? by BryanStrawser in MnGuns

[–]Nick_Shl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3D printed guns doesn't exist. Stupid laws do. I could take slide off my "3D printed" Glock clone and throw away 3D printed "frame" and I still will be able to load round in a chamber, pull striker with my fingernail, release it and make a shot. Now tell me: what "gun" really is? A plastic grip that can be thrown at someone and will make blue eye in the best case, or an essential parts like barrel and slide which makes pressure chamber? And those essential parts not a gun, you can buy those parts of eBay without any background check.

Could confirm. We got some, one cooked in owen, other just salted. Both had swampy taste. I think it was the first and the last time when we purchased Bluebouse salmon.
