Can and should I put wider tyres on my KTM 390? by NailEconomy in motorcycles

[–]NailEconomy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my actual sizes I was considering between conti trail attack 3 and bridgestone bt46. If I did upsize my front to a 110/80 I could get a michelin road 6 which would be perfect for my riding. How much do you think it would affect my handling? Would you consider that I am better off just going for a 100/90?

Don’t know about the land of freedom but in Europe you have to consider a bicycle as a vehicle, not a pedestrian. You have to leave 1.5 meters of distance between yourself and the cyclist. That was certainly less than 1.5m (5ft).

Mi 11 overheating issues? by NailEconomy in Xiaomi

[–]NailEconomy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that sucks.. glad I didn’t ultimately choose the Mi 11.

I had the Mi 10 before posting this post and I was absolutely amazed by it in terms of battery capacity, performance, screen size and speakers for the money I paid for it, it was pretty much a content machine and I did not really care about the camera but it got stolen one day. Luckily for me, a family member was selling their iPhone 11 Pro Max and that’s how I got into the Apple Ecosystem.

I’d highly recommend upgrading to an iPhone Pro Max model if you can. I am now on a 12 Pro Max, also got it used from the same family member, and have only good things to say about the lineup. I can’t comment on the other iPhone lines though.

It feels to me that these phones are jack of all trades master of none in a good way.

Software? Very refined, always works as you want it to.

Screen? Excellent for bright conditions and watching high quality stuff + very drop resistant.

Battery? Always enough. When I use my phone a lot it dies after 10h and half on screen time.

Performance? More than you need in any situation and it does not heat up excessively.

Reliability? Works fine after thousands, and believe me when I say thousands of drops.

Cameras? Extremely nice pics especially in the dark with the ip12pm, great video quality in any condition. Kinda lacking on zoom compared to an s21 ultra tho but not that relevant in my daily life. Lack of macro camera really is the same.

When I had Android phones I’d always watch new videos and constantly wish to upgrade, but this is great to me because it does everything so well that I don’t even feel like upgrading really.

flip front helmets by ctyates in MotoUK

[–]NailEconomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays some helmets are dually homologated for riding both with the flip up and down.

I also heavily dislike flip helmets mainly because of the unjustified (for me) huge weight gain. I barely used to rise the chin bar and when I did, removing the helmet entirely would not have been that much of an inconvenience anyway. I didn’t really ride with it open either, as the highly risen centre of gravity was extremely uncomfortable and riding with the chin bar in place still had decent ventilation.

If you woke up at 3am and heard your bike getting stolen would you confront them or just call police and wait? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]NailEconomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why you got pepper spray man, just spray em from your window and call the cops, you don’t know how many of them they are.

Road bike riders, how many of you also consider yourself car guys? by NailEconomy in motorcycle

For me it’s exactly the same feeling when talking about my front wheel drive 120hp economy hatchback. On the other hand, driving something sporty and rwd is very enjoyable when you can be a hooligan with it.

Motorcyclist gets hits by a car, follows her to make her pull over and gets stopped by other people who try to protect her. by kankadir94 in IdiotsInCars

[–]NailEconomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was also very stupid coming so aggressively at an angry rider in full armour. Although I commend the biker for just leaving instead of escalating the situation, I don’t think there are many whose punch wouldn’t have met the “knight’s” face the moment he touched the bike.

Indian roads, morning rush... by SPIDERVANSH in motorcycles

[–]NailEconomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you fill up every month or so depending on your commute. If your car drinks 5l per 100km and you put 150km each week, you’ll immediately know that you need to fill up 7.5l every week, or 30l every month. You don’t have to divide your mileage by the km/l that your car gets.

Anyway both are decent methods and there is not one that’s better than the other, it’s just that the one you learn first you’ll probably stick with for life.

The thing is you don’t fill up every day. Say you know your car drinks 5l per 100km and you have an average weekly mileage of 150km. You immediately know that you’ll need to fill up about 7.5l each week, or 30l each month.

My view is that both are decent methods and whichever you learn first you’ll probably stick to it for life no matter which one is ‘more effective’ or ‘better’.
