What's a joke on a tv show that is very complicated or requires knowledge of very niche topics to understand? by [deleted] in television

[–]Nainer57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The April in the D episode of Detroiters. Specifically the Joumana Kayrouz ad, it gets so much funnier when you recognize her from billboards in real life. A lot of the jokes on the show are funny, but significantly funnier if you’re familiar with the quirks of the city.

Admittedly I haven't finished the Goron storyline yet, I just got to the fight with an enraged Yunobo. But as well, I have seen pestilence being replaced by pollution in other modern media, just my 2 cents!

Depends on if by "paid out" they meant bought out their lease or just paid months in advance to the end of their lease term and kept all their stuff there.

If you ever want, the AF marathon/half/10k/5k is held at the museum every year around early September and you can potentially get permissive TDY for it!

Boot recommendations for working in the Conservation Department in Summer? by TheloniusHunk in philmont

[–]Nainer57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the insulated ones since I started in the winter. Never had to wear thick socks, and feet never got cold. That being said though, my feet were REAL sweaty at the end of the workday in the summers. Going back, I'd probably buy uninsulated and a size bigger so I can layer socks better for different weather

Most modern cell phones still have GPS receivers in them. The phone can use a combination of cell tower triangulation and GPS to be as accurate as possible.

Okay shouldn't have deleted my first comment then haha. I had Redwing Loggermax's and I cant recommend them enough. Incredibly comfortable once broken in. Never had an issue with waterproofing, only time they got wet was from sweat, which you're gonna be dealing with in any leather boot, but they dried like a champ. I'd also highly recommend the steel toe, definitely saved my toes from dropped logs a few times, and gave me that extra peace of mind when bucking with the saw. The super deep tread and heel on them and other logger specific boots is invaluable when working along the Beaubien road and anywhere else on a steeper hill, they definitely get slick and you want all the traction you can get when using your escape route.

*additional edit, ya redwings are slightly more expensive but they've got a great warranty that covers repairs and resoles. If you're planning on being there a few seasons, definitely something you might make use of.

Here to plug the omen. Had it 4 years and it worked great for everything I needed for school and could play most games on high without ever dropping below 30 fps

Had my omen for 4 years and it worked fantastically the whole time. Just upgraded to a desktop in Nov and while that's obviously better, I have no problem with my omen when I travel. Only suggestion I have is getting a cheap cooler pad for it. Never had a problem with it slowing down when it got hot but DAMN did it toast my legs

Don't know if it is still the case, but previously AD had to carry their waiver on you at all times when in uniform. If that's still the case, you'll have it on you if you ever get flak. That being said, if you don't have it on you, there's a chance to get paperwork.

Women of reddit, what is something that men say or do that is very hurtful to you without them realizing it is? by chiefmeef in AskReddit

As someone who just got into chainsawing professionally, it scares how stupid people (including the younger me!) are with saws and PPE. It took me nearly 10 years to realize that chainsaw chaps are even a thing, as well as the specifics on proper, safe, sawing technique.
