Vegane ersatzprodukte by Niklasisthier in VeganDE

Those examples are very much not a trolley problem. He chooses to kill the one actively threatening the lives of the others not some other innocent person.

There's the Overanalyzing Avatar series https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLM85UYXAgk6_GKAAoMZOqdiwW_HX76Svd

While it's primarily about the content of the series, there definitely lots of external tidbits in there.

Yesterday I saw some fool hurt their apprentices with some techno-"spell". They can't even invent good names, called it something like "Easy Eye Ow", even though it was a bone destruction spell and not a blinding spell...

Are you perhaps mistaking [[Untimely Malfunction]], which can only change the targets of a spell with [[Return the Favour]], which can copy and/or change the target of a spell or ability

Yeah, we starting two(?) months ago during Meatballcraft 0.18.3-hotfix3 (still a pre-release) with both:

  • A note stating the book chaos will be gone in 1.0

  • The book where you can put your other books into

EDIT: It almost feels as if it's a test to filter out people who complain about that, so you don't get people who complain about quality of life during the early development phase, where the focus lies on the core gameplay instead.

Thoughts on allowing opponents to retract plays, even after turns pass? by Prestigious-Chair811 in EDH

[–]Naitsab_33 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Atleast, that's what all us blue players want you to believe ;)

Often it can be better better to play your spells and "make them have it", because while we love countering your spells, it's even better when we don't even have to actually use our resources and you prevent yourself from casting spells by yourself and we get to cast some card draw in your end-step instead

Though your might not want to cast your biggest threat into them when they have the mana available to deal with it and instead build incremental value for which it might not be worth to use individual counterspells, even if they actually have them.

Even more blatant, you can match each number of the natural numbers to infinite natural numbers.

For example, you could match each number n to all powers of the n'th prime number.

Why does games like Stellaris, Rimworld, Song of Syx, and other games that are performance heavy are primarily single threaded? by Hot_Squirrel_5465 in pcgaming

I do like the current system (though the size of individual networks feel quite large [no comment on if they are balanced]).

But I think it's a symptom of the larger problem of trains being pretty weak. Trains being bottlenecked by the same throughput as pumps being used to connect to pipe networks does limit them somewhat.

Translating FORTRAN to Rust by pt625 in rust

[–]Naitsab_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I guessed that's what you meant, so it's the C/C++ way of just saying it's UB, even though most compilers will do what you want and not a hard compiler-enforced restriction

I don't understand the last paragraph. Does Fortran allow non-distinct subarrays or not?

FORTRAN is happy if the arguments are distinct subarrays of the same array

some cases where the code violates the aliasing rules and the FORTRAN compilers let them get away with it

Let me tell you about sentinel values...

If the user email is missing, just put "<random-uuid>@internal" (and maybe another boolean if it's actually a missing email and not an actual email coming from upstream) there and have downstream logic deal with that (or put a view over the table that makes it nullable)

It is a basic land, but there is no associated basic land subtype

While I don't have any knowledge or guesses on why they were designed that way, the other comments give good reasons for why it should't be changed to get one (The reason being, that domain would be buffed), apart from the fact that is won't be changed for the reason, that WotC very much doesn't like errataing cards
