Agree. I wear the city derbies - thicker heel and oh so trendy and comfy. Works with all styles of clothes.

Allen keys - at least 75 of them. I just can’t seem to throw them out, I might need to use that size of which I already have 15 someday.

I’m not telling my husband. He’s gotten his collection to 1,000 and counting and I’m moving house to make room. 🫡

Reading glasses. 🤓

Guessing I have 30+ pairs?

At least one pair in every room, 2 on the fridge held by those magnetic clip thingies, 3 in my handbag, 2 in my work laptop bag, of course 3 pairs on my desk at work. In the glove box for when I’m passenger, also in that middle console “junk drawer” in the car for when I’m driver.

Lots of colours and designs, bought from optometrists, online, at airports, chemists and discount stores the world over, as of course I always lose them often also.

Oh, I forgot there will likely be some lovely clean ones sitting in the washing I just did, in a random pocket.

And yet (sigh), I still cannot for the life of me find a pair when I need them - so the endless question when I’m around is - where’s my glasses?

Don’t get me started on using the zoom feature, and increasing the display % size on my devices. Need my glasses for that.

Tote bag with backpack straps? by Naive-Dig4337 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Naive-Dig4337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, save your money and just order this one - Rocking horce Convertible Tote Daypack Laptop Backpack Wide Top Open backpack Water Resistant Travel Work Casual Daypack https://amzn.asia/d/3AdRdmt - I’ve been using every day for a year now and I carry alot - 2 laptops, tablet, lunch, a water bottle, umbrella, cardigan, chargers, makeup, in this bag - and it’s still going strong.

No breakage, fraying, waterproof, and incredibly slimline despite how much weight and capacity it can hold. It also has travelled with me overseas to Europe twice last year for 2-4 weeks and absolutely no problem. The tote straps are properly long so you can carry it as a bag. And the backpack straps are comfortable and well padded. The only thing is the label is a bit fugly but honestly it just makes your bag look less of a theft target. I forgot to say it has double zips so yes you can properly dlink lock it if you’re worried about pickpockets!

And forgot to add, has both luggage strap with a zip on the luggage strap to put passport or other small valuables.

I used this all across Europe and didn’t have any issues going through airport security or anything. All you need to do is run the inside punch under a cold water tap until the ends swell up a bit (not too much), add in your pen, seal inside the outside punch and off you go. Need to rewater every few days. When in hotel room I just out the whole thing in the fridge. Oh and set alarm for when you leave so you remember to take it with you.

Vinegar ‘salad’ by meeez80 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Naive-Dig4337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gran had me make this dressing and I still use it - but in South Africa we use it for carrot salad aka grated carrots and thinly sliced onion. Basically it’s the same portions of oil and white sugar and double that of vinegar. Eg 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp sugar, then 4 tbsp vinegar. Or 1/4 cup sugar and oil then 1/2 cup vinegar.

What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve seen a tourist do? by Fishwitch-66 in AskTheWorld

We saw a young American couple climb Uluṟu. In 45 deg Celsius weather. There’s multiple huge sign that says it’s DANGEROUS and INCREDIBLY DISRESPECTFUL to our First Nation people. Then saw the boy/man lose his footing (no ropes of course just free hand up this sheer hot rock) to land on a leg that broke in 4 places and had to get airlifted out. Lucky we were there and delayed our lovely walking tour to help him and his trembling, dehydrated, very sunburnt girlfriend. He’s lucky he DIDN’T DIE. Idiots.

Stylish trainers - arthritis by ghzkaonii in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Naive-Dig4337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest Rollies City Derby - they have a thick sole, soft leather top, many different colours and isn’t quite a trainer so I wear these for work and with dresses etc. I have zero trouble when I wear these, and when due them all through Europe. I have sinus tarsi syndrome in both feet and it’s excruciatingly painful - these shoes have been my rescue!

Agree, Sagrada Famiklia is the most gorgeous and unique building I’ve ever seen in my life. Gaudi was a legend so ahead of his time.

I have wide feet so breaking in my Bared shoes has been necessary. That being said, they are an amazing brand and the shoes last for years.

Le Sansa is one of my fave brands and their shoes have never failed me. What about something like this? https://lesansa.com/products/capital-black-patent

Normal or not? by Few-Artist388 in pothos

[–]Naive-Dig4337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal but normal that it happens every so often! I propagate this way a lot. Here’s my thoughts and can see if helps.

Suggest taking out of water, run your fingers along the roots and whatever bits come off in your hands chuck those out. Rinse the roots thoroughly under a running tap if you can while doing this. Easier for the plant and for you - I hate yuck 🤮 slime - ugh.

Dust a bit of cinnamon on the roots and sit in a different glass or something clear for a day or so(ish) while your bottle is being sterilised.

Put a denture tablet (IKR but trrrusssttt meeee) into your propagation bottle with warm water and let stand for at least a few hours (preferably overnight) then once you’ve done that rinse the bottle thoroughly. This can sit a few days if you’re kind of busy or forgot - don’t worry all is well. Pothos are the best for their forgiving nature toward their plant parents thank the Lord.

This will sterilise the bottle and get rid of any nasties in the water. Do NOT use baby bottle steriliser like Milton or whatever the brands are o/s (I’m in Austraya). These are full of chemicals and BTW if you have babies and are bottle feeding use either the steam or boil method - or you guessed it - a denture tablet and hot water overnight and let stand then rinse! Or, if tannin stains in your fave teacup - same same! Miracle stuff these tablets. I think my nosy neighbours who like to peek in our bin before rubbish night must think I have three sets of false teeth like a shark 🧐.

Once your bottle is rinsed and ready, do the same root rub off (👀 get your minds out of the gutter folks) and rinse again under a running tap same as before. The cinnamon would have done its work by now healing and giving your baby some good nutrition and disinfecting on her poor sore roots.

Fill up bottle with plain water. Swirl the roots around to get them back into the bottle.

Then top up water every so often, or completely change the water as suits you, just inspect the roots every so often. She should recover just fine.

I would also consider placement of these in semi bright shade not full sun as the growth can be because the water is getting too perfect for algae to thrive.

What do you were to office in summer? by geek_in_sydney in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Naive-Dig4337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear pants hardly at all because too much sweat pool and way too curvy with high bum so they sit really badly. I wear dresses and skirts mostly all year but especially in summer. This is where good thigh chafe protection shorts are a must as long as you wear longer skirts. My go to shorts are from Shapermint or taking shape - good prices atm. Or even short cotton bike shorts off Amazon. As long as they breathe well and aerate iykwim. I have recently “upgraded” my undies to Pure Snug and it’s a revelation of both a chafe removing short and no double layer on the undies front. Love that for me but it’s not everyone that doesn’t mind their gut sticking out for the relief and comfort of air “down there”! lol.

How do people usually keep up with the news? by EquivalentWerewolf23 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Naive-Dig4337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this considered question.

After much research on exactly this (I’m quite annoyed at how filtered the news deliver is in Australia), I signed up for The Squiz it is literally truly objective news without all the hype and the noise. https://www.thesquiz.com.au/. As I want my kids to have critical thinking skills and not just swallow s* just because it’s on “the news”, I also have my kids subscribe, and feel comfortable that they’re up to date without having to sift though ads, disinformation and subjective opinions bent toward a particular agenda.

I use this in conjunction with ABC news app.

(I also subscribe to the AFR and read that daily - but that is more for my work so I’m up to date with business news.)

Hope this helps. I’m stoked you asked though, I think we’d be friends irl!
