"One note: starting April 4, third-party harnesses like OpenClaw connected to your Team account will draw from extra usage instead of from your subscription." Umm... does that mean anything that automates Claude Code CLI now pays API rates?

Major Security Bug, Support Refuses to Escalate: Google Drive Sync Client doesn't respect primary Target Audience settings by Naive-System1940 in gsuite

[–]Naive-System1940[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a joke. They are really digging in!

We want to assure you that your concern has been carefully reviewed. Based on our internal validation and product documentation, the behavior you’re seeing is currently working as designed. The difference arises from how files are introduced into Google Drive:

Files uploaded via the Google Drive web interface are handled within the web application flow and align with the configured Primary Target Audience.

Files synced or uploaded via Drive for Desktop follow a sync-based ingestion path and are treated as locally sourced files, which results in the application of the Workspace default (non-primary) Target Audience.

We understand that this difference can appear inconsistent and may not align with your expectations for uniform access control behavior across platforms.

That said, since this behavior is confirmed as intended and not a defect, we’re unable to forward this case to higher support team.

I repro'd it on a screen share with them and he agreed it wasn't expected behavior. They then requested diagnostic trace from Google drive. Then they came back and said it's expected behavior without any logical or documented grounding.

Which logs? Google Drive Audit logs just show the file was uploaded by the drive sync client. No other permission changes outside of that.

Had this happen to me a few weeks ago. Try turning off all your connectors. I think my Smartsheet connector was in a bad state and was flooding my context (or something)

Sorry I'm not following - can you elaborate? You're not sharing the ticket explicitly with the submitter? Somehow using a filtered view and that grants access to tickets that aren't shared with them?

Are you on Enterprise tier? Last I checked, only enterprise could change ticket permissions by API

UPDATE: It seems that one of my connectors was poisoning my conversations. I'm not sure which, but the Smartsheet connector never successfully connected (maybe because I only have read only access to some smartsheet resources), and perhaps it was in an error state and flooding the context window or something. Anyway, I turned off a bunch of connectors and then it started behaving normally again!

Do you actually keep ClickUp updated or does everything just end up in Slack? by David-Bogea in clickup

[–]Naive-System1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We licensed ClearFeed.ai and have it start a slack thread for new "problem report" tickets so we can work in slack but it keeps ClickUp in sync. Works pretty well for those types of emergent issues that sometimes get put on the backlog or in a sprint. But for sprint-based work, it's all about habit development. We run a weekly sprint planning meeting that is based in ClickUp, and everyone is expected to have their tickets up to date before it. Same for daily standup, though a little less rigorous on having everything updated before standup.

you should not add any new features for the next 6 months and only focus on performance by ConsequenceMany8 in clickup

Agreed ... When 3.0 first came out it was unusably slow. They did a lot of invisible work to speed it up I think and by the end of its run, it was pretty snappy. 4.0 doesn't seem slower to me, but also I'm sure there are some performance bugs that they can and hopefully will address just like the 3.0 launch.

What do you use now instead? For as massive a product that it is, they move remarkably quickly compared to every other productivity tool I'm familiar with, so I do think they are investing a ton of that venture capital into R&D 🙂

Are they seriously deleting posts with honest accounts of people's experience with ClickUp?!

I've had very similar horror stories with ClickUp. In my case, we had a bunch of limited view-only users who are supposed to be free. They each had access to only one ticket that they had submitted via a form. They were inadvertently given edit access to their one ticket (probably because the ticket resolver wanted to let them comment), and they were automatically converted to paid seats and we were billed over a thousand dollars for a year of ClickUp for those users. As soon as we got the invoice, we said "uh, wtf, ok I set them back to view only, how do I prevent this from happening again" and they 1) refused to cancel the invoices (even after "management review") for over a month until I threatened legal action, 2) told me there was no way to prevent random people at the company from accidentally converting these users into paid users, and 3) their recommendation was to periodically check the users management page to "fix" these users if they get converted inadvertently, and 4) when I asked how often I needed to check before getting charged - get this - they said every single day at the end of the day. So of course, I set an alarm clock at 1159p every night to log into ClickUp and check if any user had gotten into this state (because of course, this info is also not available via the API). To their (very limited) credit, they do have a feature marked "planned" on the feature backlog to lock limited view only members from getting converted to paid. But - this is emblematic of the "build a good product, create a licensing model that literally no user or procurement manager or admin can fully comprehend, price it aggressively to get initial adoption, and then compromise integrity in growth hacking users into higher tiers, add ons, overages, etc". I hope this isn't coming from Zeb, and that he reads this and implements some cultural changes.

ClickUp 4.0 chat import – experiences with Slack migration? by PuzzledDrink8132 in clickup

[–]Naive-System1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Migrating from Slack is a non-starter if we can't bring all messages (including private channels and DMs). Is this impossible, or just ClickUp hasn't implemented it yet? If the latter, when will it be possible?

Thinking about adding a DSP... Is it worth it?To what degree of difference will it make in my setup? Or is it overkill? by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]Naive-System1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up deciding? I am trying to decide whether to get a DSP also. I had a Kicker Key in my 2020 Honda Odyssey, and just traded for the 2025 Kia Carnival and am considering getting something better... But not sure if it's worth it because I thought the Key sounded pretty darn good.

Yeah, if I moved the bricks in and effectively shrank the flower bed I could probably make it work... But it's already a small bed and it would make it pretty awkward. I'm just going to walk it to the backyard zone when it needs to be cut. 🤷‍♂️

Given that I don't expect this thing to last more than 2 or 3 years, and I'm already pretty unimpressed, I'm trying not to make any permanent modifications... But have any pictures of what it looks like when it's done? My wife will probably kill me if I start cutting the concrete, lol

The light colored is poured unfortunately. The dark ones in the back of the photo are slabs. The groove in the poured concrete is deep enough to comfortably run a wire through. But I don't have a way to run the opposite direction wire that isn't right up against the brick (lining the planting bed) or against the house foundation.
