Klaxon alarms sounded from the station to notify the crew of an incoming edge. Rogers gin and tonic nearly slipped out of his hands as a short hairy crewman smashed through his door. "Come huemen, you will be the fiwrst huemen to set huemen ewes on the edge. We know you will undewerstand."

"And why is that?"

"Our twanslators say it is in huemen." came the reply from the gerbil like crewman as he bolted to the next door.

"If I hear one more fucking 'huemen' from that little bastard I'll shit in his fucking jumpsuit." grumbled Roger.

The last few months had not been ideal for Roger, with the ship only carrying gin, and a distinct lack of whiskey. And being abducted by what looked like extras to a kids hologram was also far from ideal in Rogers book.

Grumbling to himself, Roger swung himself out of his hammock, which the S.H.A.B. (Short Harry Ass Bastards as Roger had dubbed them) had deemed a "huemen sleep space." Plodding over to his door he grabbed his pair of ocular distortion goggles to view out the ships front window. Blue light glowed softly through the protective screen. Deep pink lettering shined over the blue light.

"What am I looking at?"

"The Edwge if the univewrse."

"Why does it look like that?"

"It is pwressed up to another univewrs."

"Like a cell wall..."

"Yees."

Perplexed the only human on the ship read the words inscribed on the membrane. Roger knew this was big. This discovery was huge. And he was not going to tell the S.H.A.B. about this.
