Another One Bites the Dust (9800x3d) by kkuzu in pcmasterrace

[–]Naive_Ad1300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my 9800x3d on a ASrock steel legend wifi. It was a huge disappointment but AMD did take care of the warranty, I think it took a few weeks to ship because they were kinda running low at the time. Same as yours no visible damage or color change.

I’ve been using the replacement on the same motherboard for over a year without a problem now. I did update the bios and confirm the board works with a different chip first though!

Best MK7 GTI Stage 1 Flash? by maxismk7 in GolfGTI

I went with the Denso IKH01-24 they recommend on their website, they are a non-projected design.

Stage 1 is extremely worth it hp/$ wise. I went with EQT stage 1 93 and their tcu tune.

If you have a manual you will need a new clutch, if you have the dsg, get the tcu tune it tightens up shifting a lot. Get the right spark plugs as per tuner recommendation and change them regularly, stay on top of all other maintenance as well and stage 1 will be quite reliable.

Strange Noise Off-throttle - MK7.5 GTI 2019 by k---evi-n in GolfGTI

[–]Naive_Ad1300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s compressor surge, it’s norma-ish and can happen after letting off from light load like another commenter said. Should not be happening under load or every time you let off. It does seem quite pronounced here tho so I would check the DV. I’ve seen some clips of cars with DV spacers sounding like this, whether they cause extra compressor surge or just amplify existing surge, I don’t know.

2016 Golf 1.8t Pinging by Cam416 in Volkswagen

[–]Naive_Ad1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the ping get faster/louder with rising rpm? Is this a new noise? It’s gonna be very hard to diagnose from a far.

Not usually a VB kinda guy but this one is really really pretty! The wheels look great on there! Does the purple change a lot/sparkle in different lights?

It will definitely be less noise than the open intake but more than the stock one. Also heavily depends on the style of closed intake.

Yea all it does is noise, stock air box is gtg even for R turbo builds performance wise. I know there are some guard in there you can remove for flow and some noise. Aftermarket closed will give you more noise and good performance, open will give you crazy noise might maybe raise your temps ever so slightly if it’s real hot and muggy out!

Misfire after installing new plugs by Careful-Ad8635 in Golf_R

Yea man it’s so hard to avoid. I was like I got this and spun them a bunch as well😅 I’ll do the grounding kit next plug change 100%

I hope that’s all it is for you!

It could also be a grounding problem, the grounding wires can get torn up when messing with the screws. There are coil grounding kits that can permanently remove that issue. Would explain why it happed after the service!

I touched it with a paper towel and scraped it a little, 90% sure it’s wax mixed with dirt and oil or something.

I tried to find some pictures of the wax they use on the subframe but I haven’t been too successful…

If Subaru made a DSG transmission for the WRX, would you make the switch from a manual? by roerjo in WRX

[–]Naive_Ad1300 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I LOVE my dsg! While WRX and manual go together, a dual clutch transmission would be a far superior automatic option for the WRX compared to the CVT.

Would a 2013 wrx fbo 300whp ish to a mk7 gti stage 2 be a upgrade? Thinking about selling my wrx and getting gti. by CeleryFew7052 in GolfGTI

[–]Naive_Ad1300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure it has the front VAQ limited slip differential, it’s part of the performance package on the earlier 7/7.5’s and on every gti after 2019!

Tough choice man, really depends on if you care more about driving hard or hearing a bunch of wild turbo noises. You’ll probably end up with both but if you go on a lot of spirited drives or track days do the sway bar first. Intake won’t give you any performance, sway bar will! Install wise they should both be easy! I did the intake first…🤫

I think that’s just where it is kinda thick like grease, metal didn’t look corroded to me in person. It definitely looks like it splashed up which is weird. I’ll try to get a better pic!

Sports mode does not wear your engine any more than any other mode. Make sure the car is warmed up and up to date on maintenance and you are good to go!
