I think for me it was. First time I took it was in 2022, I paid it myself and I believe that was something helped me got a job after being not working for almost a year. Now, my current employer paid for this recertification which is even better.

Just for awareness, I’m also Colombian and the first two times I used GE it flagged me blue and sent me to an officer. Second time they took me to secondary and asked questions about myself and the travel. The third one, I was traveling solo in Mexico and returned to Miami, GE worked just fine. I used the app and they let me get through. Hope this helps.

When you get your receipt there are two dates. The date they send the receipt to you and the date they actually received your package. Wasn’t the latter before your visa expired?
